In the latest Fastrack, for STX:

Quote:
“On the Subaru BRZ/Scion FRS, the pair of OE strut tower-to-firewall braces are not considered to be a strut bar (per 12.18), and as such are not allowed to be removed, modified or substituted (per 14.2.G).”

With a shorter ratio your 2nd gear bangs will turn into 3rd gear shifts, but your 2nd gear will start sooner, so what used to be 1st gear bangs turn into 2nd gear peak torque launches.

ultimately it will depend on what sort of autocross venues your region has, some like to open it up others keep them rather restrictive

not quite

if they don't consider that a strut bar, then a traditional strut bar that will effectively triangulate your engine bay is allowed.

Speaking of NOT legal. I almost did something that somehow I thought I looked into abt legality; but certainly wasn't--when I went back to double check myself: CF driveshaft...

I'm embarrassed to say I had already pulled the driveshaft out, and packed it with the greatest care for shipment (long story that I'm very sore abt & will be commenting on another thread regarding the chain of events).

Needless to say, I'll be reinstalling the stock driveshaft, licking my wounds of embarrassment & lost time/energy, and embedding this lesson into my memory banks (I don't live in SM anymore! Lol)...

To much shifting... IMO.. put there and stay there.. you know its costs you 1/10th of a second evert time you shift.. rather raise the rev-limter

Course today probably cost the Twins @ least 1/2 sec today--2 areas hard on the limiter where the car seems to go into, uh... suspended animation. lol
Can't wait to tune & bump limiter.

Yeah you absolutely can't hit the limiter in this car, gotta shift. This car is pretty good with downshifting back into 2nd, it's not hard at all.

I'm much better @ downshift than upshifts. lol

I should have shifted to 3rd in one area, but tried it in the other area & got into the marbles. Too busy there--botched run.

B. The driver and front passenger seats may be replaced, with the following restrictions: The seating surface must be fully upholstered. The top of the seat, or an attached headrest, may not be below the center of the driver’s head. The seat, including mounting hardware, must weigh at least 25 pounds and must be attached using the OE body mounting holes/studs. Additional mounting points may be added.
C. Factory rub strips, emblems, mud flaps, bolt-on front valance lips/spoilers, and fog lights (except those integral to a headlight or turn signal) may be removed. Rear wings may be removed so long as the vehicle retains any federally-mandated third brake light.
D. Alternate steering wheels are allowed except that steering wheels with an integral airbag may not be changed.
E. Fenders may not be cut or flared but the inside lip may be rolled to gain additional tire clearance. (The outer fender contour may not be changed.) Plastic and rubber wheel well splash shields may be modified for tire clearance and to accommodate a rolled inside fender lip. The modifications may serve no other purpose (e.g. air intake, brake ducts, etc). No other changes to the stock fenders or wheel wells are permitted.
F. Addition of spoilers, splitters, rear wings, bumper covers, valances, side skirts, and non-functional scoops/vents is allowed provided that either:
1. It is a production part which is standard or optional equipment of a US model of the vehicle. 82 — 2012 SCCA® National Solo® Rules
2. It is listed in the vehicle manufacturer’s US accessory catalog for that vehicle for normal highway use. This does not allow for parts sold through a manufacturer’s performance catalog (e.g., Ford Racing, HPD, MazdaSpeed, Mopar Performance, Mugen, NISMO, SPT, TRD, etc). Parts must be installed as directed by the manufacturer. Exact replicas (including weight) from alternate sources are also permitted.
Does this mean the 5-axis rear spoiler is not allowed for STX?

Or could it be allowed if your region gives leeway??
