Ok so managed to pull 257.2 miles and the light just came on. Stuck with the girlfriend so i havent got a chance to go fill up and see whats the magic number..its about a 18-20mile drive back home so ill pull about 277 miles before i hit the gas station. im guessing close to a 11 gallon fill up so 24.5-25 seems to be the magic number after all but later on we will see.

I'll be watching this for final numbers. Takes about 1000 miles to really say anything though.

Last Day
highway/city: 90/10 Temp: 37F Miles Driven:276.3 Highest Speed:67.2 Average Speed:40.6 Highest rpm:3,299 Avg MPG Display:25.4 Driving Habits -Shifting when the car tells me to shift 95% of the time(2300-2700rpm shifts) -Not to heavy on the foot -Did not run the car once, basically drove like a grandma throughout the whole process. -dont coast to stops -lucky enough did not run into any traffic during test nor did i do alot of idling. -cruised at 50-55mph on the highway End result is 276.3 miles/11.148 which gives a total of 24.78mpg while this isnt that bad for e85, i basically babied this car during the test to achieve this number..Had i been shifting 3000-3500 where i normally shift and revving the car here and there this number wud most likely be around 20-21 mpg maybe even less. Not sure if cold weather can play a part on e-85 but im done driving like a grandma..Too lazy to do another test and update with you guys lol, but im going to drive normal and have fun and i'll let you guys know what i get. Ill update with pictures tomorrow of the 276.3 and the 11.148 fill up |

So your fuelly shows 33.9 and you got 24ish baby driving and expect 20-21 normal driving... e85 doesn't seem worth losing that 10mpg, unless its for performance, my driving normal is babying to a lot of people.. I can get about 38 on average.. Best ever was 46 but that's down hill for most of 100 miles and was around 55-60 because of traffic.. So that was cheating a bit lol.. My city is around 33.. Something that baffles me.. Some times my fuel meter will be half a mpg off sometimes up to 2.. I'm surprised it fluctuates as much as it does.. My numbers above are miles divided by gallons.. Not the trip |

When i first switch back to pump gas i didnt really rev the car up because i knew i still had a bit of e85 in the take so i babied it for a little bit and then when i felt i had most of it out is when i revved the car up. Regular driving the difference isnt noticeable but once you take the car past 4500rpm you can def feel the loss of power switching back to pump.

Not trying to revive an old thread but since the weather is getting nicer upper 50's-70 degree weather i noticed gas mileage seemed to have increased. Just wondering if anybody else is getting better gas mileage using e85. I am on an e70 tune and got 288 miles with a 11.082 fill up which is about 26 mpg rounded off. I have not really babied the car either, did some spirited driving here and there. Today i did a run with e70 to see what my 0-60 and 1/8 mile time was and e70 is def helping those numbers out. I have amr intake and front pipe, vtune(e70). I had one passenger car, stock front pipe and intake system and subwoofer in the truck and i was still able to put down this.
dont mind the hp number i didnt select my cars profile while doing the run, just wanted to see what my car would put it down |
