Increased FRS MSRP price

I had placed a $500 deposit down for a white FRS MT. The spec sheet with VIN that was printed out for me had a MSRP of $24,200. Scion had recently bumped up the MSRP to $24,500 for the same configuration. When I inquired about it today trying to ensure I got the previous price, I was informed that I would get charged $24,500. As a consumer, what leverage do I have to get the lower price? Nothing was signed and the only thing I have was the older spec sheet with the lower price.

Thanks,

Nothing you can do. As all new cars coming in will have the increased cost which the dealer will pass on to you. I would not sweat the 200-300$ difference. That's a drop in the bucket for something you want.

Agree. Considering the amount of joy the OP will get from this car, 200-300$ is nothing

I would assume that price jump is because its a whiteout. Special color costs more.

There was no contract and the price on the object you wanted has gone up. It's part of living in the world. Don't make an issue of it. Just smile and be glad you finally got your car. Congratulations.

If you had signed it, I would say make them give you the original price. But you didn't sign it...which also means they can't force you to pay either price.

I jokingly suggested in the other price increase thread that it was done to pay for all the CEL issues(crickets too). Joking or not, I believe this to be true.

This is true, but it still very decieving to actually take the money for a deposit from someone, with a listed price, and then tell them the price is different when the car arrives. IMO, a dealer should eat the 200-300$ increase to build the trust with the customer. In the end, when you nickel and dime your customers, it affects their consumer behavior pertaining to your business.
