Question/Comment for the CE
For Tada-San...
1) Any plans to use same platform for other vehicles...like Toyota/Lexus in US market? 2) I hope next generation FR-S has more camber/toe adjustability and uses 5 x 114 wheel bolt pattern. This would make the car much more aftermarket friendly. |

But the 86/FR-S/BRZ is still pretty close in styling and size other than it being rear wheel drive of course. If they make an AWD version of the 86/FR-S/BRZ, I would likely buy one as long as they still manage to keep it responsive and fun. But until then, I will just enjoy the FR-S for what it is and have my Eclipse on the side for when I want AWD traction. ![]() BTW, what specifically are you wanting/missing? The AWD? The turbo Toyota engine? That particular styling?

First, Thank you. I mean that from the bottom of my heart, Thank you. This was something the automotive world needed, to remind people that you can make a car fun without giving it gobs of horsepower.
Second, Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions; and thanks Ichi for being our middleman lol. Third and (my real question), I know in the auto industry it's taboo to give expected dates but in the near future will we be able to option out the FRS to parallel what is offered on the GT86? Not so much the interior colors but more the HID's, dual zone climate, etc... (don't need them stock, but would like them as options)

+1 on the above questions and second... I'm an engineer, I know that compromises had to be made to meet a certain margin, price target, target audience, manufacturing issues, etc. What is the one thing that you wish you would not have had to compromise on? For example, they had to lower the rev limiter from 8000 rpm to 7500 rpm due to fuel efficiency, etc. Basically, what's the one thing you had to eliminate that was on the initial concept? Last, thanks for taking time out of your day to inform the 86 fans. |

Dude, if I didn't like you guys (or this forum), I wouldn't even think for sec or consider do this kind of extra work... but I do like you guys and this forum, so I'll do what I can on my side.
I can't be good as Moto-san, but some day... EDIT: Also guys, some of the questions you guys are asking are already being answered in this thread or other threads, so please search before you ask

This one is for Scion USA:
I know that Scion is known for their "Release Series" models with unique color paints. Are there any plans for a release series of the FR-S with the iconic "panda" (black and white) color scheme of the original Hachi Roku?

Since Scion is taking part in this, my question(s) are for them:
Can you offer a better range of options for the FR-S? You have a monospec state of mind, but most owners (current or potential) feel shafted here in North America compared to around the world. Why do I have to choose between affordability (FR-S, Toyota College Program) and better features & security (BRZ Limited)? A Related question to both Scion and Toyota: Why not offer a midrange option of the 86 under the Toyota Marquee here in North America? As to Tada-San, why make the double-din dash wider than a normal stereo? The stereos overseas are nice, but the stereos here in North America are butt-ugly (save for the bespoke) are not without faults (BRZ Navi for example) and I don't see the need to buy a dash kit for a normal sized stereo, if I have the desire to change it. |
