Apparently if you take the negative cable off the battery for a couple minutes, it fixes the gas gauge.

Quick and easy way to tell..and i can confirm that this works...is to remove the negative cable from the battery, let it sit for 10 mins and pop it back on..the gas guage will correct itself if its wrong. Done this at least 3 times and it worked.

I'm about 170 miles into E85. Mileage is pretty awful but I don't have a good comparison since I have done probably 45 WOT 3rd gear pulls on this so the mileage would suck on gas as well though not as badly. I can say it appears mileage will be somewhere around 21-23mpg on E85 compared to 26-28mpg on a non E85 tune. I was getting 30mpg before either tune but I babied it because power was boring. Now that I have some, I do find myself using it a bit more.

The burden of proof is on people claiming that the fuel system will degrade at the same rate with E85 as with E10. That's a huge assumption right there. The people loudly claiming that E85 will have no long term effects are the people who have financial interest in that statement. What are you going to claim next, that leaning out the fuel with a performance tune won't degrade the cat? I'm not saying that cat life is or should be a high priority, but it's the same kind of statement--durability claims with insufficient data.
You use E85 with the stock fuel system at your own risk. It could cause problems in a year, or 10 years from now, or never. It's totally up in the air. We have no idea what the suppliers did for durability testing on E85 with the injectors or the pump. |

Last night while I was driving home from work my fuel gauge dropped from 3/4 to 1/4. I didn't unplug the battery at all. I've been watching the fuel tank % on my torque app so I knew the gauge was off but it looks like it fixed itself for now anyway.

I guess no one has bothered to datalog the hpfp fuel pressures. Only way we know for sure if this does or does not affect is feedback from the community.
