In both cases, completely unacceptable.

Again, if not offered, you should demand a car on day 1.

Actually, I am amazed they didn't do this. Although, after looking into the lemon law for Texas, I think my dealer did this just to make it harder for me to go after them if htis turns out to be a legal issue. According to the law, if they give you a loaner, it invalidates the part that says that you lost use of the vehicle for more than 30 days, so long as it is a comparable car...

I think someone should offer us a group by for yellow vinyl wraps so we can show off our pride

Sometimes you have to be a little bit assertive (without becoming obnoxious). Talk to corporate and not just your dealer, if you're not already doing so. Ask for the deal. Tell them other people have gotten it. If they still resist tell them very politely but firmly how disappointed you are.

My response was if there was not an issue I wouldnt have had to go to the dealership again to have it checked and a second time to have parts installed. Perception is reality and right now I feel like the attitude I am getting is well the CEL / SL isnt coming on and the car isnt on the clock since it isnt in the shop so we really don't want to take the time to deal with you.

Typical rule, if it has to stay over night, then you should be entitled to a loaner/rental.

I didnt go into detail but Im not very happy and it has nothing to do with what was offered its the way it happen there were comments made that were not needed.

I understand they could say screw your car is fixed but from a customer service standpoint to tell me its my VVTI Gear then say oh no we are going to flash your ECU well that didnt work so we are going to replace the ECU here is your car and not check it for TSB that was out while my car was there and have me go back again to get that checked out and take 3.5 hours out of my day sitting at the dealership to have the problem confirmed to go back when the parts come in which the ETA is "Its an FRS who knows"

Then to have the Tail lights a few days later like I said maybe I am just venting right now just aggrivated.

I hear and feel ya on this. I can't even get angry because I knew the cam repair wasn't going to fix mine and that I was stuck being a guni pig. I just want my awesome car that I paid/am paying for. We should start a support group thread

I just got off the phone with Smart Toyota in Madison, WI (where I originally bought the FR-S from) and was told that they will NOT be giving me any kind of compensation for the issue. My car was in the shop for nearly three weeks since starting on the day i bought it and still no kind of support. Am I crazy to ask for the first month car payment to be covered since I didn't even get to have the car for the first month?

For those of you that were able to get compensation, who did you talk to? What did you ask for?

I talked to my general manager but even then my deal is being altered each time I go in to talk to them. But now that they have a tsb for the chirpping and they also are about to reprint my quarter panel I'm either 4 days or 1 visit to hit my lemon law for my state. I'm already looking at lawyers to send them some nasty grams. After I dropped over 12 grand as a down payment theyromised me all that back towards another vehicle. Now they said I'll be lucky to get 9grand towards it and they won't give me a new frs again like they said they would if wanted. If I could go back it would be to get his offer on record. Unfortunately I actually trusted them to do the right thing or at least stand by their word. All I can say is I will never buy from them again.

I understand we may not be entitled to compensation as some posters have commented, however, I expect someone to uphold to the deal offered to me.

a dealer won't give you compensation, they did their job by selling you a car.You need to contact the manufacture, open a case and be as calm as you can. They owe us nothing because our repairs are covered under warranty at this time. But it doesn't hurt to ask because of the concerns you have and the inconvenience that has been created.
