My car been inthe shop 30 days qualifying it as lemon. As much as I love the FRS, i don`t have confidence in the car since there is no concrete fix for CEL SL issues. I might be doing same thing declaring lemon if Scion don`t compensate me enough to keep the car. Wonder how many FRS owners has actually resorted to lemon laws.

I would not hesitate to return mine if I could. I think the ecu flash is a bandaid repair for bad design or manufacturing defects which are NEVER going to be properly repaired for some of us. This whole 'we've identified the problem, we are working on a solution, but aren't telling anyone what it is' BS from Toyota is nothing more than a smokescreen/stall tactic. I'm sick of driving a car that always feels like it's going to stall every time I stop.

Winter is almost here, I want a reliable vehicle. This isn't it!

If you decide to do the lemon law and you have constant contact with Corp and the dealership it should make it easier in the long run for you

So how do one qualify for compensation? Just dropped mine off at the dealer this afternoon. How long do I have to wait before I can get compensated?

I would guess not but it takes away the defense of "He didnt give a chance to fix the issue" If you are in constent contact with them you can always use it against them it basiclly covers your ass.

Call Scion and get a case started. Stay in contact with your assigned representative.

They'll offer up something for your hassles once your car is fixed.

I'm not trying to deliberately go out of my way and try to get something for free. I was just curious. Hopefully my car doesn't stay there long.

Just got off the phone with my rep at Scion and I will have an update on Wensday on what they are doing for compensation. Reason being my car will be going in Tuesday for the Crickets and Tail Light condensation.

He mentioned they were unrelated to the CEL/ SL and I reminded him that even if they were not performance issues It was more time out of my day to go to a dealership sit and wait for them to take a look at my car then ordering parts and another day for an install. He made the notes of it in the system and then said he would not close my case until I brought my car into the dealership and they looked at those issues.

Just as reference they are looking into the following for compensation

1 monthly payment
Extended Warranty
Five Axis Lipkit

I will give another update when I hear back

Wow. The most compensation I ever got from GM was a one month payment and an extended warranty.

And trust me, I know all about having a brand new car in the shop for days on end, but after reading some of these posts, you guys make me look like a gentlemen (meaning, some of you seem to be coming off as butt holes, but that's my opinion) when I was dealing with the BBB and GM in regards to my vehicle being in the shop every month.

A check for two months worth of payments.
A 7-year extended warranty.

Not bad.
