ToyotaObsession, with a name like that there is no reasoning with the Toyota Troll, I've been ignoring his post for a while.

I'm with Ryephile and Giccin on these matters. Truth hurts.

I'd like to add if anyone has high expectations for Scion you're going to implode when this car is released.

-Scion with get the cheapy version, girls, moms, old hipster and honda/toyota ricers will rejoice.
-Subaru will be refined yet slow and no awd.. something we Subaru guys are not fond of.

Both sides of enthusiasts are going to lose in this release. Little to none will be completely satisfied..

Funny, your first posts made you seem excited about this car. Little to nothing has changed in the way of information, except some spy photos, and now you are dogging out both brands. Your user name is PAImportTuner, yet you drive a rustang and seem to have little to no interest in this car already. Are you just bored?

I have a 05 G35X and 07' Pathfinder too. Mustang is low, wide, short wheelbase. ~3300lbs, nice hp, great tq, handles like on rails, stops on a dime, it's fun and reliable. It sings to 6200rpm almost every weekend repeatedly. I still don't get your rustang point.

I've been looking for "that car" since 08'. A NEW ~$27k car that I'll be happy to own and have fun with, getting tired of the shit offerings available. By the time something comes out I have more options of 3yr old cars that were mid 30s selling in the mid 20s coming into play. Timing of this car is not good to say the least. I have reason, but it's not something I care to share with everyone, it never turns out well on here. Just saying things I'm coming to know is making the 09' Evo X more attractive at the same price for this car new.

I'm glad you like your mustang. But if you are no longer expecting to get what you want for your 27K out of the FR platform, why are you still following this car? I'm guessing you are either still waiting to make your conclusion or you are just trolling. I've seen more of the latter from your posts.

I'm sure there's already a "that car" out there, you will likely have to adjust your pricing. You might be better off considering something like a C6 Corvette or Cayman S, though it sounds like you're rather set on the Evo X. From all your posts, it seems you're hoping the FR-S will turn into something it's not going to be. It's not going to be an 2-door WRX STI, it'll be more like a Miata coupe'. Since I love the Miata, I'm interested in the FR-S. It doesn't seem you're in the same headspace however.

I previously have said I almost bought a RSpec Gen Coupe but the front end along with the interior was blah but the road feel was great, I could get the 11' GT for $27k but that's not what I'm looking for. That leaves this car, the upcoming new Miata and Rx-9(2013) left for the new cars that I'm interested in. If all hope fails Evo X it is until the Mazdas come out.

I want RWD, 30+mpg, ~2900lbs, at least a power/weight ratio of around 13.5-13.7, I don't think that's asking for a lot for a car like this these days.

Unfortunately, you're stuffing yourself in a pigeon hole with those requirements, especially once you add in you want the car to have a good looking exterior and a decent interior [of which the Genesis has neither]. Light, efficient, cheap [$27k] and rear-drive all in one package? While in theory I'm right there with you on the dream list, in reality it just isn't there.

Let's go further with it.
*Rear drive and <2900lbs? You have the Miata, Cayman R, and Exige S
*Rear drive and 30+mpg? Mustang V6, BMW 335d, Genesis Coupe 2.0T
*30+mpg and <2900lbs? Fiesta, Mazda2, MINI Cooper [S, JCW], nothing rear drive I can find.

The Cayman R, at 2855 Lbs, 29 hwy MPG, and a very nice 8.7:1 weight/power ratio to go with it's $66k base price. So for 3x your budget you can get close on weight and economy and have plenty of quickness.

The Miata is pretty close to everything, 2511 Lbs, $25k for Touring, rear drive, 28 hwy MPG, and 15:1 weight/power ratio.

The 2nd closest alternative would be the MINI JCW, at $29k is a touch over budget, front drive, 33 hwy MPG, and 12.8:1 weight/power ratio.

IMO, the Miata is a jack of all trades and the most fun car on Earth.

Wow, both are going to be a failure!

Nice prediction... I see you've been chilling with Camping!

The miata is cute. I'll leave it as that. :P

Lol, so far it's all speculation so there's no truth to anything yet.

If I wanted reason I would go talk about a car that's already in production. Besides if everyone just wants to trash Scion they can make their own forum and just call it Scion sucks. But for me I'm excited and optimistic about this car and it's potential. I think it will be a great car. Of course right now it's all just opinions and just like assholes everyone's got one. So for right now nobody is right.

I could be wrong, everything that some people have been saying could come true. That preacher could be right about the apocalypse too.

So please go back to ignoring my posts .

I agree with you but it is a convertible, a bit underpowered, and is considered a girly car. FT86 will be none of these things, hopefully, and will be just as fun to drive.
