Serramonte Subaru BRZ Limited posted for $36,500,
I bought my VW from the same folks who had my car mark 4K above MSRP,
and I had to spend 3 hours to get price down to MSRP.

Here's the other side of the coin -- a "good guy" story. I was in Walser Toyota of Bloomington, Minnesota, on Wednesday (buying a Corolla badge for the FR-S) and they had a brand new, Firestorm red, automatic, FR-S on the show floor. (Beautiful color, BTW; I had not seen a red one in-person yet, and it really shows off the car well).

Anyway, Walser is a "one-price", no negotiation dealership with their firm price posted on every car's windshield. And this one was marked -- for $750 under MSRP.

No affiliation -- just a satisfied multiple-time customer.....

Just requested an online quote from Lawrence (short ways north from Liberty) and the salesman that contacted me quoted a price of $26,055 for an Auto trans model. So, NO markup there.

The out-the-door price I just got from my dealer (Russel Scion in Catonsville MD) is $27,647.42. That includes taxes and tags, and $652 worth of options that I didn't want, but the salesman said were added to the car "at the factory". The original ticket also included the $845 Bespoke audio, which I insisted that they remove and replace with a standard unit. They gave me a bunch of technical bull about why they couldn't do that, so I said that there was no deal without the Bespoke gone or the $845 knocked off and left the dealership. I got an email the next morning saying, no problem, standard audio will be replaced and $845 deducted.

The other big item on the car is the $396 clear film front end protection, which might be nice to have, but really can't be easily removed. And it ain't worth $395.

I can't imagine why they don't ship these cars stock. Every item on the accessories list can be installed at the dealership by a trained monkey in minutes, so they should let the buyer decide what they want.

I'm a bit disappointed with the "Pure price" promise.
