Hachi got the pics and he was probably told that's what it is. I was told that this thing was in CA too, so that makes 2 of us. Then you have TRDLiquid to say the exact opposite to cover it up or is misinformed.
If this was the Toyota/Scion variant there would be no need to hide the grill somewhat along with fascia, also look at that big rectangle impression, even the grill is taller. For what would you need that for? ![]() Oh and that STi has a special plate and wasn't some random Subaru: Sti roof antennae Taillights to look more rounded like the 2012 Impreza No boxer 86 logo Hello.. G ball Steering wheel although that could be in the FR-S as well HIGHLY doubt. Wheels screams ugly production Subaru. I know those vents with the chrome tips every 2011-2012 Subaru has them, look up Scions and Toyota vents not their style. AND who can forget the horrendous chrome trim piece above the plate Subaru has unleashed. ![]() |

I really was grateful for TRDLiquidSilver confirming what I was saying.

At this point I think some people are saying whatever comes to mind with the hopes that someone "in the know" will step up and correct them... and even that isn't working now.

Work your imagination and strip away the camo and you'll see the sheetmetal and lights are all the same as the other testers/pre-production cars out there. This isn't rocket science, you just have to pay attention a tiny bit....and most importantly, get your preconceived notions out of your head. The only actual difference that can be spotted here are the wheels. The antenna or the ball that's stuck on it seriously don't count.

I'm kind of excited for this hamster edition. Might not work well with a turbo though. The poor little guys will get sucked into it and make ground hamster meat

wow, Im kind of surprised TDRsilver claims that not to be a subie... I thought the steering wheel and G ball were quite suggestive. But, its all good, any news at this point is good news.
Boy, everyone around here still gets real cranky about turbo talk... I guess thats what you get from these US Toyota guys who havent seen one since when like 98? hahaha. Looks like we might not be seeing one stock on these for a while too though. |

1. This car is made by both companies.
2. Both companies are testing this car. 3. There are multiple cars. 4. It's likely that parts from either manufacturer will be on any test car that is seen anywhere. 5. Nothing is official. While it's possible elements from these tests cars will go to production, the fact is Toyota and Subaru don't even have a complete design yet until their testing is finished. What does this mean? It means that parts from both manufacturers will be seen on many test cars in the future and that nothing is decisive. Yes, you may see a shot of Toyota testing their car. Yes, you may see a shot of Subaru testing their car. Because currently BOTH cars are the SAME car until all testing is conclusive and both manufacturers make their decisions. Why is this so hard for everyone to understand? I swear this will be the last time I follow a forum on a car that is being jointly developed because people don't understand the concept. It's not like Toyota met with Subaru, asked them for an engine and then left while they both went off to do their own thing. If that were the case then yes, their own testing would be private to each company.
