Not a fan. it is ugly. and considering how much lighter it is, it isn't all that much faster.

I'd take my FR-S any day over that.

Note: If Mazda would bring a version of their MX-5 half-way to where the Ginetta is, it would kill in the marketplace.

I do think the Ginetta is more comparable to the MX-5 being its 2 seated with minimal boot space etc but i do love it and hope others enjoy the read...

Also remind me of the hatchback render s2000.... That thing is epic...

One aspect I would have to take seriously would be the safety of it. The lightest sport car I would feel safe in would be the MR2 Spyder.

My understanding was that the G40 was built on the MX-5 platform, or used the MX-5 powertrain, but I now see that they are using Ford Zetec engines and, I think, their own frame technology.

If Mazda wants the MX-5 to be in the game, they have to put an N/A inline-4 with 200+ hp in it and/or bring it down to well under 1000 kg. Then, the MX-5 will start taking big bites out of the FR-S's lunch.

A Ginetta in the U.S. would be fun. It would bring us closer to some of the driving experiences of the 1950s-60s.

It's FIA-approved, that's the only safety approval I need! Screw the DOT

Forget the G40R, though. I want the G60!!! Looks like a baby Carrera GT! Starting at a cool 68,000GBP...
