yeah mine comes from the rear, but i'm thinking it sounds like the styrofoam that they put the tools in, rubbing against the metal trunk.

If the noise that you're hearing is a ticking/clicking sound instead of a rattling sound, then maybe you're having a problem with your rear deck panel rubbing the body.

If the noise in the rear sounds like a loud vibration it is the receiver for the wireless key fob in the back of the car. It's not mounted tightly.

i think mine sounds more like new hard springs squeaking... no rattling clicking or ticking.

At ~5,600 miles I'm just starting to detect a kind of rattling sound that seems to be coming from the rear on the pass. side. I've observed it while traveling on the highway, at highway speeds, and a smooth highway surface. No clue what it is or where precisely it's coming from, nor whether it matters in the slightest, just that I've just recently begun to detect it and, the 2-3x I have, it's mildly annoying.

Clicking noise I can hear behind my left ear when driving. Tried pressing down in the seatbelt holder - it's not that. Sounds like a plastic on metal noise.

Help?

I'd have someone sit in the back seat behind you to get a better idea of where the noise is coming from.
If it's from the front (B pillar), then I have no idea.
If it's from the side (C pillar), then I found one owner with problem where the left side of the trunk panel and the rear fender were rubbing each other.
If it's from the back (rear deck), then you might have the same issue as I do, which is in my sig.

It's the B pillar below where my seatbelt is attached. It may be towards the back of the driver side door panel.

I see. I've never heard of anyone who had noise there.

If I try to imagine the materials - it sounds like insulated wire tapping against metal.

For the last 2 weeks I was hearing a rattle in the center console area...had me flipping out because it wasn't consistent. Come to find out it's the seatbelt defeat inserts rattling. I guess when you use the real seatbelt the tension must prevent the rattle.

Hmmm, I'm going to have to investigate a bit more. Thanks for the link, and for making such a detailed thread.
