mine also does this..... I have tried holding the switch faster or slower, trying to feel the "bump" inside but nothing works......

Drivers side is fine..passenger side probably doesn't work right 75% of the time...its very annoying for a brand new car....

Annoying indeed. feyrerm, if you happen to know the part number that they replaced on yours for that switch, I would greatly appreciate it. The dealership I've been dealing with has been hesitant to help me with anything they deem difficult to reproduce. They wouldn't even replace the faulty cam gear I had until instructed to by Scion Corporate.

I must admit the success of the replacement may have been premature. Seems a little better, but still not right. :-(

Yeah I've had this problem as well. Car is in the shop getting fixed, but my dealership ordered a new switch so once I get my car back hopefully that'll fix the problem.

I wonder if it's something in between the switch and window. Like it gets lost in the CAN bus unless you hold it long enough?

I had this thought as well. Really wouldn't surprise me to find even window motors hanging off of the CAN bus.

Mine does this too. If you press and hold for 1/2 second it's fine, but the driver's window never does this behaviour.

Interesting to note I am Right Hand Drive - so its a problem for LHD and RHD, even though the circuits would be swapped around.

Same here. RHD. Sometimes doesn't respond to the one quick click motion which always works for the driver side.. Showed the dealer when I went in for my 1,000k inspection, but they said nothing is wrong lol. Not a big deal just gotta get into that muscle memory of holding it down a bit!

Ok so I have already had mine replaced so I am sure its the switch design because it still does not work right. Here is why.

The passenger side of the switch works differently, no question about it. Try this. On the driver window switch touch the far right edge closest to your leg of the passenger down and press it as you would the driver side one. For some reason this works flawlessly. But if you press the switch in the center exactly as you would the driver switch it does not work properly.

I'm pretty convinced at this point that it is a switch design issue. Please try this and let me know if I am just imagining it.

Thanks!

How small are your fingers?? I couldn't possibly touch only part of the switch, maybe 90% towards one side or the other.

I have average size hands lol. Pushing tward the inside edge of the switch seems to make it work right to me.

I was told by the dealer that they're going to replace the button. I'm not sure if that's it or if they just wanted to give me the simple answer and are replacing more of the system. I'll let you guys know what happens when the part comes in.

Just found this issue....first one after 270 miles on the odometer. Any update? Does a switch replacement work?
