I think Toyota/Subaru had an agreement, something like for every 10 GT86s sold in the UK Subaru sold 1.. Toyota has a massive dealer network leading to greater presence so sold a lot more of the GT86s.

We had about 1000 BRZeeee on the road, lost around 30 over the last 12 odd years..

Only 30 over the last 12 odd years is a miracle. I'm sure in US, it's 100x more

But now, I'm thinking about it, I kinda remember reading or hearing about that as well. Not only in UK, but also in JP as well. it wasn't 10:1, but 3:1? Something like that. For US, it was FRS need to be released before BRZ, I think that was the case.

There was a ratio for the US as well as I recall, but not sure exactly what it was.

Did some quick checking and most outlets at the time reported the agreed ratio was about 20,000 units of the Toyota vs 7,000 Subaru. Toyota didn't quite reach their goal but Subaru sold every one they could get their hands on.

Which is surprising because first year, it was near impossible to get a hands on FRS or even BRZ.
