That is why I'm leaning towards the XTX. It's 24GB and it does good enough on some of the dazzle things like Ray Tracing. My only concern thus far is those cards having hot spots and high power consumption. I wouldn't worry about the power consumption, but I'm trying to get the most out of my 750w PSU in my H1v2 without having to tear it apart. And of course I could just get a new case and a new build, but that's $$ I wanna save unless I NEED to do it. Also I just love my H1 case lol

So, I got into iRacing.

I did a couple of laps on the GR86 and then the CTS Race car and I found it odd that I couldn't downshift as easily on the CTS, It had to be at an specific speed in order to downshift.

The one thing that sort of bothers me is graphics. Nothing like GT7, more like A.C without mods, very raw.

It was fun, takes a bit to get used to zero ABS and different tire mechanics, plus no racing line or suggested gear indicator. So I should probably turn off all aids in GT7 and see how I like it, the only issue with doing that in GT7 is the limited FOV. I can't really judge or negotiate a turn if I can only see so much of what is coming up.

I don't know how I feel about the buying a bunch of cars and tracks, selection seems a bit limited cars wise. Track wise there's plenty. Feels like a game made by EA but with like, more support.

Some of this could be the display you are using. I noticed when I play on my crappy/old Vizio 37" 1080p TV, my viewing distance seems limited. When I tried using my 24" Asus gaming LCD via Remote Play, I could see everything without issue.

Granted, I was sitting closer, but there's still a big difference in quality/contrast, etc.

I imagine those playing at 4k would have an even bigger benefit. The game already looks great at 1080p, hard to imagine that it can look even better than this.

Mmm, Im not completely sure, I do play on a 32 inch OLED. GT7 has interior view settings which could kind of be interpreted as an FOV slider but it really isn't. I think PSVR2 unlocked a whole new world for GT7 because you can look beyond what is being presented right in front of you.

In this case, against GT7, iRacing has an upper hand with an FOV slider. Im currently at 85 and I found very helpful in the absence of a race line indicator found in GT7.

.
To me, for SIMs VR is the only way to go long-term but it does require some compromises on equipment, etc. Still, the ability to more naturally look around is a winner.

I need to get my SIM setup going for Flight Simulator, but it would easily convert to racing.

lol I was just watching this. It appears my poor little set up is going to be obsolete before Christmas. Guess I'll be doing a bunch of upgrading sooner. Mostly cuz I know I'll be bottlenecking my 5600x with a 7900xt/xtx but the heart wants what the heart wants.

You're going to need a different case too... Also, obsolete? I dunno. For what titles? And a 5600x shouldn't bottleneck a 7900xtx most titles either? Or do I need to waste time on panic videos to understand?
At this point start planning a whole new build...

I'll still be on a 5600x and rx6800xt for a while I imagine.

I mean I wouldn't consider a 3070 and 5600X obsolete for a while, unless you're trying to game at 4K with ray tracing.

If you're really just trying to keep up with the times and upgrades, an AMD 78003XD, for pure gaming, is the best out there from what I've read. or even a 58003XD.

I've been playing AC: Valhalla and MS Flight Sim on the 49" ultrawide monitor MomHawk gave me for a gift. I can say that for gaming it is worth every penny.

Yes, it's the equivalent of two 27" monitors side by side. It isn't 16:9 if that is what you were thinking, it is 32:9.
