I think once mine actually arrived at the rail head, it took another 3 weeks to get the car because they couldn't find any truck drivers. My particular dealer had 33-35 cars waiting to be picked up.

Another data point. Ordered 12/10/22 from Subaru Roseville here in CA for MSRP, VIN on 03/08/23 (88 days), arrived at the store and picked up on 03/29/23 (21 days). 109 days total. Traded my E63 with 74k miles. Manager had a chuckle with me going from 8 to 4. Would have loved to keep it, but wife wouldn't let me keep 5 cars and a bike. Something had to go or I move to the dog house.
To those still waiting, the car is very much worth it. Loving the simplicity of a no-bullshit vehicle. |

I don't have exact all the exact dates, but I put deposit down on November 3rd, the order was placed in early December with a predicted delivery of early May. Early February I was given a port arrival date of April 16 and the dealer confirmed US arrival on April 20. It was delivered to the dealer on the 29th. At that point the dealer told me 2023 production was finished but I can't attest to the accuracy of that statement. They did tell me several other dealers in New England called trying to get my car.

I asked my dealer if there's any updates. He said no, but we should still be on schedule for May delivery. I'm planning to take a shuttle from the airport to the dealer, then drive it home, so I'm really putting faith in "the system".

Seeing quite a few BRZ incoming on various dealers sites. Was told they aren't abandoned orders, but ones that Subaru is sending out. In transit, arriving next month.

It seems that I definitely lucked out. I had a 2016 White BRZ Sport-Tech and last August (2022) I was reading that 2023s were starting to arrive at dealer lots. There is a Subaru dealer on my way home from work and I stopped by after work and saw a new 2023 White BRZ on the lot. I asked what model it was and sure enough, it was a Sport-Tech. Somebody had ordered it quite a while before but they backed out earlier that day.
I did a deal to trade in my 2016 that day and picked up my 2023 about a week later. I only drive my BRZ in the summer so I just had a few months to drive the new one but out of the gate there were a few things I didn't love - 1. It felt a lot softer and less precise than my 2016. My wife preferred it (she hated riding in the 2016) but it seemed less direct and definitely didn't handle as well as my 2016. 2. The steering wheel seemed to be a thinner and much less comfortable than my 2016 3. I didn't like the turn signals and I also preferred the old gauge cluster On the handling, I started to get the sense that things weren't exactly right there, so when I took it in for a post-break-in old change at the end of last summer, I had them do an alignment, and sure enough, it was off significantly from the factory (or maybe it became off during transport). After an alignment, it felt like a new car handling-wise - very planted, tossable and the new tires felt awesome. I parked it for the winter and have just been driving it again for a few weeks so far this spring and am really enjoying it now. It's significantly faster than the 2016, is undoubtedly more comfortable, and while it still feels a bit less direct and visceral, it handles incredibly well and as noted with the new tires, it absolutely sticks to corners. I still hate the steering wheel - I just can't find a comfortable position. The rim is too thin in my opinion but overall I am glad I landed the new BRZ when I did, but the fact that I felt a bit of remorse initially for my 2016 shows just how awesome both generations of this car are. Oh and I'll note it was really easy to transfer the autodimming homelink mirror I had bought for old BRZ to my new BRZ, as well as my dash cam... |

I also went from a 16 to 23 and hate the steering wheel. I'm thinking of wrapping the steering wheel to make it thicker. I think the 2nd gen cars use the 17+ steering wheel. https://www.amazon.com/Lonkcy-Genuin...078JS6MCD?th=1 |
