I think the trans is good (not great) for the car and price point. It's certainly no Tremec T6 though.

Great point on the temps. I do live in a colder climate with a commute of around 10 miles and haven't driven it for longer distances in months. I've probably forgotten what it feels like when properly warmed up.

The weather is starting to improve and other things in life are freeing up time, so I look forward to more quality seat time soon.

Got Invidia N2 installed. At first it seemed super loud. After driving for couple of weeks either it broke in (is that even a thing for exhausts? prob not) or I got used to it more, but it doesnt seem to be as droney/annoying.

The way I usually drive it shifting below 2500 I barely hear it. After 3000 it gets dramatically louder. I do miss the Subaru rumble though, really makes me wish for some UELs. Is there anything on the market for 2022+ that is catted and doesn't require a tune? I am not sure I wanna go into modding the car that much.

it's part of australian law. cars have to have a full size spare.


the 1st gen had it to, basically ended up with a 'bathtub' look in the trunk floor

It comes like this in Australia. My previous cars had "a small spare tyre", so I am not sure if the Australian law now requires full size tyres.

The cover is an option and wastes the space in the well.

Not quite true as far as I’m aware mate. My facelift Gen 1 has a space saver (and flat boot floor). Plenty of our other cars have had space savers, or no spare and inflatable cans. May have changed recently, but haven’t heard anything.

What's wrong with lower rev shifts around town? 2500 isn't awful and probably helps gas mileage as long as you're not lugging it. No necessity to racecar shift it when you're just cruising around local roads at 35 mph. Don't need to prove to the Civic behind me that I can get to that speed in just a measly 5 seconds by revving it up.

Personally, around town I shift somewhere in the 3000-3500 range typically. When the engine is cold, I'm shifting at 2500 and giving it 10% throttle. There's no rush in life.

Yeah I shift in the 3500 range as well. I can't see how you wouldn't be lugging it shifting at 2500 and keeping up with traffic. But people tend to drive quickly on the surface streets around here since the city is so spread out.

Who buys a car rated at 20/27 that needs premium and is concerned about gas mileage?
