Should everyone have one?
Hey guys and gals,
I've been lurking on this forum for the past month and I've been hooked on the 86 legacy like a mouse to cheese. I'm located in the inland empire. I had a chance to test drive a sunburst AT FRS and it was lovely. I rarely get excited over a car, but it is the car that I definitely want. However, one gripe that I have is when a great product comes out, a whole slew of people who may not appreciate it get their hands on it. It's used as a status symbol instead of an appreciation for it's rich heritage and nuisances. Maybe it's the green jelly monster rearing it's ugly head because it's not sitting on my driveway yet. But to each their own. End rant -VD |

It's inevitable that that will happen. I'm sure it already has. In a perfect world, maybe it would be the way want it lol. I do agree it would be cool if people who appreciated the car for what it is could get their hands on it first, but I guess that was the First 86 program.

dat shit cray. Compared to other car forums the people on here actually know what this car is about. Every car has people who drive it that are asshats, but this doesn't seem to be near as bad.

I've had people say they thought it was an Alfa Romeo or some other Italian brand until they saw the scion badge.

My two biggest issues are the lack of power (understandable) and the extremely poor performance of the FR-S a/c.

i came from a 95 civic sedan and a 90 toyota 4runner. My FR-S is a major improvement. Maybe some people have been spoiled with the luxurious features of modern cars.

A/C works just fine out here in the middle of the Texas desert!
Unfortunately every car, no matter the cost will have "those" people. I own a 2007 Mustang, so believe me when I say I understand. 9+ million units allows for every walk of life to be behind the wheel. |
