Well don't get me wrong, next life I'm never getting married or having kids. Just stating a truth. Not the same.

I don't wear a ring, never have. I got $350 for my wedding band at a pawn shop a couple weeks ago. Bought my wife a new ring with money to spare.

Not judging your relationship, but from this prospective it seems you've been doing it right to date in terms of not co-owning things without the marriage ceremony. I would be careful about messing it up now.



For what its worth, MomHawk and I made a conscious decision from the beginning to co-mingle finances, with everything in both names, and having full access to the money. Anything less felt like we were planning to have one foot already out the door. We do realize not everyone sees it that way of course, but it's worked for us for almost 35 years and we've never had a money fight, at least not a major one.

Well yeah that's the thing is it would probably easier just to get married than to try and figure out a 50% equity deal lol. Problem is if for whatever reason we got divorced state always sides with the women. So easy is not necessarily smart. That's the thing marriage is cheap divorce is expensive. There isn't even any benefit to being married anymore though. The commitment comes from your heart not some document. Otherwise why would we even need divorces?

iphones are fine as long as you:
a: follow their rules, no jailbreaking
b: stay up to date with the latest/greatest model

i prefer to keep phones for as long as possible, so iphones inherently don't work for me.

iPhones get software updates for like 7 years. I was using a 2016 iPhone SE until 2021. Now I use a 2020 SE that I plan on keeping until it no longer gets software updates, which could be 2037 or later if the 7 and SE1 are anything to go by.

I get that they’re not for everyone, but as far as fully featured useful life goes, iPhones are a great deal and last a lot longer than a typical equivalently priced android.

Still using the 6+ I was given back in Oct 2014.
Replaced the battery once.

Only reason I even have one is because it was given to me and I am on my Dad's plan.
