@Veloist Are you able to share how much you dealerships are willing to sell brz's for in 2021 out the door here on the forums?

Locking in on a price depends on a dealer. Most dealers will lock a price in if you order from scratch. If there’s a mark up they should tell you also before placing the order.

Every dealership is different. Like I mentioned there’s a competitor dealer doing a little less than MSRP but their allocation is probably done for the year because that’s probably about 6 or 7 cars. I saw another competitor dealer at $5000 over, another $7000 over MSRP. Numbers are all over the place right now.

MSRP is pretty much a a predicted number that the tells the dealer “if you sell the car for around this much you should be able to sell enough and sell quick enough to not have them sit on the lot and ruin your day supply.”

Just pointing out the easy-to-confuse trim level error. The out the door price can vary wildly based on sales tax and doc fees. For example, Oregon has zero sales tax.

Had to google it, and apparently Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon are tax free. Yeah kind of obscure states to live in, but still mindblown for no tax

Can't speak for the others but ask someone from Delaware what it costs to register their car. IIRC it's based on fair market value. People get 5 year tags to offset the cost.

Geez it's not even the same price category anymore when people were paying under 30k OTD for the current model years and now its 35k OTD @ MSRP if you can get it..

When I got my 2020 STi, I was moving to NH in just a few weeks from ME. I saved over $2k waiting to register the car in NH... Now, a subaru dealer in ME saved my ass on my '13 BRZ, so I ordered my '22 with them, but since I'm in NH now, no sales tax. WOOOT.

So I have never factory ordered a car, currently I've got an email chain going with a few FL dealers to get an idea on pricing.

Can I order the car without stepping foot into the dealership until the car is ready to be picked up? I really have no desire to go there unless it's to grab my keys and pay for the thing. Most dealers seem pretty pushy on getting me in the door. Why? You don't even have a car to show me, you probably don't even have a brochure!

Man, I just want an 'Order' button on Subaru's website. This is all so stupid.
