It's kind of sad that certain places have so much supply, but a lack of willingness to use it all, when other places don't have enough to begin with.

I guess the "Eat your dinner, there's starving children in Africa" lesson didn't really sink in for some people.

To reprise something I've noted before, people really should read farther than book/article titles and newspaper headlines. If they did, a lot of misunderstandings could be avoided.

We've got people in my area lying saying they have weakened immune systems just to get a booster...the article was interpreted how it was intended as written...but great job assuming I didn't read it.

And when it weakens their immune system they will have what they deserve, lol.

(I know sounds as bad as the guys wishing the anti-vaxxers ill health but I couldn't resist. I don't really wish that on anyone BTW)

Opie, if you want to make sure people understand your point, it would help to make clear what your point is. The part about people misrepresenting their health status to get a booster in your area adds valuable context.

So as of today at work coaches/trainers have to return to wearing masks when working with their clients. But don't have to wear one at any other time. O_o

Humanitarily speaking shouldn't the lesson be more like, "Don't eat all your dinner...save some to send to the starving kids in Africa...?" Food....or vaccine...

According to my wife, when she and her siblings were kids, were served something for dinner they weren't wild about, and her Mom used the "starving kids in Africa" line, her little sister used to scream, "well, SEND this to them,..I ain't eatin' it!" Never ended well....

I specifically posted a relevant article without context, the articles contents speak for themselves, and immediately others made assumptions and posted characterizations for no reason. This isn't on me.

The article does state..

".."In addition, there is a debate about whether booster shots are effective at all," Ghebreyesus told a news conference with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto."

...and...

"...The WHO said last week current data does not indicate that COVID-19 booster shots are needed....."

...which surprised me. Those are fairly unequivocal statements. If those statementa are true, why are boosters even being discussed for anyone other than those at very high risk?

Lol, we said the same thing. Then you realize that if you sent it to Africa it would spoil before it gets there. The lesson is eat what's prepared in front of you and be grateful for it, or the cookie jar is getting hidden somewhere you can't reach.

I thought you intentionally picked an article with a misleading headline to join in on the prior conversation. Besides, if you don't want commentary, I would advise against posting an article to a public forum.

i always challenged my parents to send off the stuff i didn't want to africa. they attempted to teach me about supply chain difficulties. so i threw my brussel sprouts in the garbage.
