As for fluid mechanics/aero (which wasn't what you were talking about), I've done wind tunnel work to optimize road vehicle aerodynamics, in that world "flow" isn't a rigid technically defined term. We talk about lift and drag and moment coefficients and how altering the "flow" could improve them, but "flow" isn't something that is strictly quantified. If there *is* a technical definition in this sense that I've missed (I'm more of a structures guy), I would bet on the 2nd gen having "better" *flow* but they're almost certainly near enough equivalent.

Anyway, if you wanna solve Navier-Stokes equations for the two and compare/contrast, knock yourself out...

When it comes to art, classical design, and the way in which the english language developed you literally do not have the necessary design features found on the vehicle to call it a "flowing" concept or "sculpture." One single feature on a vehicle doe not create a unified concept that encompasses overall requirements.
