Speaking of gas shortages, not sure if I mentioned it on here but one of my sons got caught having to get to his shift at the hospital where he works with just enough gas to get there, and no stations open between here or there. So, his car is basically out of gas in the parking lot at work.
i went on an early recon mission this morning to get enough gas to get him home with a two gallon and one gallon gas jug (I was out of shopping bags, or christmas tree ornament bins). When I got to the Racetrac station closest to our house this AM before 6:00am the truck was there filling them up and no line (score). I pull in with the FRS, and pop the trunk and pull out the two cans in sight of the truck driver. The conversation goes: “Hey man, we got plenty of gas no need for that” “Well, my son who drove to the hospital last night for his shift, and basically ran out of gas in the parking lot and needs rescuing doesn’t think so” “Oh…..yea….well…sorry about that” “No worries, man, I know how it looks” So, if you see a red FRS with some guy filling up a couple of gas cans on a "gas hoarders" website, yea that's probably me.

I am so used to not having a backup camera that even when I get in a vehicle with one, I don't use it. Except for hooking up trailers, they are handy for lining up the hitch when you are by yourself.

I could go for some of those right now. My hip has been so bad the last few weeks I have been having trouble walking about half the time.

In a lot of cases, the backups are also compromised because the code was installed weeks or even months in advance. You restore a system and it immediately encrypts again. Of course, it's the data that's critical.
I can see where it would be a legitimate business call to pay, given that these groups really do usually produce the code (it's part of their business plan). It is not something I would do but it is a legitimate choice.

DarkSide (like most active groups) is a dual ransom actor. So one ransom for the data to be decrypted, and another to not leak data relevant to the compromise. I wouldn't be surprised if they paid for the data not to be released but not the full decryption cost. For a large enough target, some actors hang out in the network for a bit and encrypt the backups. That's pretty rare from my experience, though.
My right hip is why I have them. It turns out all of those people who said "sitting like that is bad for your hips" for the first 30-some years of my life were right. Who knew? Besides them. |

I am pretty sure mine is bone spurs from an old injury. We are changing insurance providers next month which will force me to change doctors so I am trying to hold out until then before I get it checked out.

Local 86/BRZ fb gp someone was asking if anyone was selling their car. For a shits & giggle, I put mine. We chatted on PM w pics and mod specs. At the end, he ask for the price. I gave him the price, after that never heard again. Was my asking price crazy? Not too crazy, still was in the KBB private sell range... just it was in the top end. Was I thinking of selling my BRZ? No, not really, but if the price was right, maybe lmao

I saw someone selling '13 with 130k miles for $21k. Yeah... that one is def not going to sell any time soon. Also noticed that, locally not a lot of BRZ are on the market. There are 12 or so FR-S & 86, but saw maybe 3 used BRZ.

I have quite a few BRZ's in this area. Pricing is all over though. KBB for excellent condition is 15-16K for a 13'. About half of them private party are over that. Dealer's are way more.
