Buyer Beware OFTv2
If you're thinking about buying the OpenFlash tablet (v2). Think again.
I've had my OFTv2 since Christmas and as of the last couple months, I get odd errors now when connecting to my PC for file management. I just bought a brand new PC and still get the same odd errors (all in Italian so I have no idea). Luckily I still have the tunes on the OFT itself and it still works with the car, however not with any PCs (I've tried 3 different Windows 10 PCs now). I opened a ticket with OpenFlash, included screenshots of my errors and a detailed description of my issue(s). The never responded and closed the ticket, see attached screenshot below. The crazy thing is I think the guy that owns/runs openflash is a member here! Oh well.. |

Well if you want action from the manufacturer, and haven't gotten any yet, you've done the right thing by bringing it up here.

Openflash is known to be a nightmare to deal with. You can always go tactrix if you don't want to go Ecutek.

OFT (and Vishnu performance before their rebrand) has always had near-nonexistent customer service. Their strategy is to get to market early with a decently priced product, and then move on to a different platform because they can’t be bothered to provide long term support.

And here I am providing customer support on 30 year old outdated equipment. What a chump I am.

I thought we had an OFT rep here?

They are about as active here as they are in responding to customer requests.

The open flash tablet doesn't work with USB 3.1, or at least doesn't anymore in my experience. In order for me to access my OFT tunes I need to use my 2008 Dell Studio XPS with USB 2.0. I've tried multiple USB 3.0 to 2.0 adapters with no success but I may just be buying the wrong ones.

I noticed shiv seems to respond more on the open flash Facebook group. I read at some point he was having family issues or something rather.
