I find it very interesting that these new rockets look so much like the ones from the 1950s sf movies.

There aren't really many new ideas floating around out there, we can only bend the laws of physics so far.

Source: have worked on twin ion engine (TIE) propulsion systems. Now working with plasma engines.

It is also interesting to me that things like the plasma engines has taken so long to work.
Back in the 60s when i was at RPI we were talking about the possibility's.

RIP SN9 - wow that was an even bigger explosion.
Looks like SN10 didn't get damaged.

Understatement of the year so far "We just need to work on that landing a little bit"

For those that missed it

Right?! I didn’t grow up with television, but I had occasional access to my grandparents video collection as well as an attic full of my uncles old science fiction novels. These newest SpaceX rockets just look like Tom Swift’s Flying Laboratory to me.

I know what I’m watching this week....

Never mind upright landing, I'll be more impressed when SpaceX gets their ship to be able to maintain a circular path over the ground like Flash Gordon does.

Poor Elon. He gives and gives but it's never enough.

Well, straight up is relatively easy, landing is harder, but making a cylinder fly in a circle requires a special breed of engineering (or a wire and nail offstage)

To be fair, he also takes and takes (investment money) and it's never enough either.
