The car will be the same car, just with differnt name and different badge. how can that hurt the cars quality? Its just stupid to think that.

Toyota just isn't going to start and finish the funding of the re-entry into the "sports car" segment (aka Supra) therefore they are unwilling to fund for the badging and the Toyota brand of quality. Let's face it. . .Scion takes this and it will be a hand off from Toyota with wink and a nod. IMO the FT86 will now never see the light of day with a Toyota badge. Toyota will stick with demograhic and let FT86 choke on its own rope.

A true car enthusiast will give respect where respect is earned!

What are some attributes with the Scion xA, xB, xD, iQ and tC?

What don't you respect about those two cars ? xB's are great cars .. and many in the US and Japan will tell you this .. the xA is a great commuter car .. and perfect for someone looking (when it cam out ) new car at a very affordable price.

Actually, those are both pretty sweet cars. To start, they are roomy as all hell, the interior is very nice. The price point is perfect for low budget driving. They get good gas mileage and dont choke on themselves by being too weak. At first i like the looks of the xb (until it got curves) and the xa grew on me after a while. Almost got a 2nd gen xb.

note: this would be my parents car, i was 15 when we test drove it

I hope we get more information, other than "oh hey, its gonna be scion, gonna be called the FT-S...thats it!" Like...I unno, weight....official power, etc. Not gonna happen though, so meh.

Why FT-S? FR-S seems more proper.

what? Toyota is in the sports car segment, the IS-F and LFA say hello as you see them zooming by. (assuming you were saying toyota isnt going to be back in the sports car segment if not, my bad)

This thread is humorous now, i was mad at first but im calm now - let's just wait and see what this car ends up being. It's possible Toyota actually wants this to be the flagship car for the Scion brand (this is how im keeping my interior dreams alive)

Great in what aspect? I don't like the xB just as much as I don't like the Kia Soul, the Nissan Cube and Honda Element! They are ugly cars w/0 appeal. They are underpowered for a reason; to get good gas mileage.

You can't really respect a car that looks horrific!

So much for sports car representation.
Well that mostly due to numbers i'd say. Lexus ran a limited production 500 cars. Compare this to the fact that ferrari has sold 55,000 (minus approx 3,000 for spontaneous supercar campfires) cars in the last 10 years alone...

So it's Scion then. Well, we've been expecting this for a while.

Obvious con: almost certainly no factory installed LSD. That basically adds $1K to the price right there.

Possible pro: to date every Scion has been a hatchback. Crossing my fingers for a liftback version.

Having the car be a Scion makes me feel like I'm too old to be seen driving the car. I'll get over it though if the driving experience is sublime, however.

Why not just stick with your Exige? Or is that your track day only car?

Hopefully afternoon of 4/20 we will know more. If not, we will have to wait until the fall.
