Dealership left a gash on my pulley cover
I keep my engine bay in brand new condition, always have. There's not a single mark or anything in it. Got the car back from the dealership today for the valve spring recall and there's a massive gash on the plastic pulley cover. Has anyone had issues with this stuff happening and if so how did you handle it? I luckily have pictures of my engine bay beforehand where the pulley is clearly in brand new condition, followed by the pic I just too of it with the big gash in it.
I emailed the dealership but is there any other measures I should take? Because I'm getting a new cover and I will not be paying for it Thanks in advance UPDATE: They replaced it free of charge, I guess I dusted off my medieval joust for nothing Last edited by scottryan; 04-17-2020 at 10:25 PM. Charge their dealership with a joust while wearing chainmail of course, but let's hope it never comes to that

Luckily, I think they will comply and just replace it for you. Pulley cover (if it's the part that I'm thinking) is a pretty cheap and easy one to replace.

A lot of my stuff was damaged by the dealership. My stuff was strewn about on the floor. My Grimmspeed pulley cover got damaged and scratched.
I was just happy to get my car back at all. Be thankful that a cheap plastic cover was all that you see damaged |

KILL THEIR PET FISHES. BURN THE BODIES AND THEN SOAK THE ASHES IN DIESEL FUEL JUST TO REMIND THEM THAT ONE SIMPLE MISTAKE HAS COST THEM EVERYTHING THEY EVER LOVED AND CHERISHED IN THIS WORLD. dude seriously, talk to the dealership. you will be getting an email about submitting a review for the dealer. don't complete the review until the dealer has been given a chance to fix the problem. most will take care of it, because it's important that you give them 5 stars in the review process.

All is well, reached out to their parts manager and he happily ordered a new cover for me free of cost. Now the waiting game for when that engine blows up hahahaha

That is very true, but at the end of the day though my stuff is my stuff, and they can't just ruin something I've preserved the entire time I've owned my car to be fair... with that being said we'll keep the fingers crossed on the engines fate

I think the main reason it was only the pulley cover is because I put all the stock stuff back in the engine bay along with my stock wheels... last thing I needed was chasing them down for scratching the lip on my rims. Sorry to hear about the dealership you went to, that would piss me off a lot

You have to post pictures of said damage.
For the love of anything unholy let us see the damage.

Oh no, no, no, no, Civics are too much car for some people.
That's about the nicest way I can say it.
