The greatest gift from my grandfather are these little plastic boxes of random drill bits, screws, etc all labeled and organized.

My grandfather left me ALL of his tools (opps, I almost forgot the monkey wrench).

Ahhh, the perks of having a father who is a retired electrician with nothing but time and a desire to keep busy now that golf season is done.

Not only is he driving 3 hours to our place to drop us off the couch they want to replace, saving us a good chunk of change, he’s also agreed to install a few dimmer switches for us, saving me the effort.

In worse news, my fiancées work has changed up her schedule from 12 hour 4 on, 5 off rotation to 6 on, 1 off, 4 on, 3 off 8 hour shifts. She is not happy and likely wouldn’t have taken this job if she knew her schedule was going to be that. The good news is that she went to her union rep and they basically said “wait, that’s illegal”. Hopefully it’s a positive outcome for her, since our plans for the next 2-3 months in terms of holidays and vacations were based around the 4 on, 5 off schedule. Most notably, our plans for Christmas have gone to shit. But, such is life when you’re a nurse, I suppose.

I don't think anyone patents beard oil formulas. The carrier oils and mixture rates do vary, but it's all largely the same stuff. Plus, I might get my oils from different supplier and I don't think you can patent such a flexible formula.

I drilled a hole in my desk at home... but now I have 4x the work space. I must have hit just the right spot to find the next dimension.

looks like I'm going to have to kill someone today.

put half a large pizza in the fridge this morning at work and when I went to get it about an hour and 15min later all but one slice was gone.

so now I have to find out who it was and then decide how I'm going to murder them.

Of course you can patent your product. The type of patent is called a "composition of matter patent". If you don't, the Chinese will take a sample of your product and run it through a mass spectrometer to determine it's composition. Then they will produce a generic for 1/4 the price and fuck up the whole market, because it will be contaminated with lead and carcinogens.

Also, once you have decided on a name for your product, be sure to trademark the name.
