Fitted 9.5inch wide rims, on the FRONT.. No rubbing, no guard rolling :)

Soooo... for people interested.. I am extremely surprised, but they fitted, no rubbing, scrubbing, even under full lock with coilovers and dropped Going in and out of driveways, all still fine




We obviously needed a fair stretch with 215's on a 9.5" rim :P



Also needed a bit of camber to get the rims in the guards:



May change the rims at a later stage but these are oh so much better than stock!

Anyway, I thought people may be interested to know

whats your impression of the BC coilovers? I am looking to get the ER (external reservoir) type which seem to have very similar features to the KW V3 ones. Surely the BCs aren't as bad as some people make them out to be? The BC ones also have adjustable camber tops.

im running BC ERs in my silvia drift car, their softest setting is about the medium setting of the BCs without the external reservoir. Probably not the best option for road use but still a decent coilover. I highly rate BCs

this is EXACTLY the car to run stretch, the car makes no power so doesnt need wide tyres but most people still want to have nice wide / concave looking rims. That way the wheel tyre combo weighs less too

Stretch doesnt make sense when you have a 500kw GTR however

Regardless of power, this car was made purely, strictly, and solely for handling. Putting on a tire that is not wide enough for the rim (an offest likely far outside the intended limits of the suspension) which then puts you at risk of the tire blowing off the rim when you get near limits is the -opposite- of what this car was designed for.

Stretch on a 100hp VW which was designed as a passenger car, is slammed beyond belief, and has a bike rack, rusted hood and chromed engine bay...sure...have at it.

If this car will never see a track day or auto-x event, I guess go for it. I guess if you are drifting and cant afford wider tires and burn them up often, go for it. If you are just going to hardpark one of the most balanced cars to be released in a decade...stretch away.

No. Just no.

This car comes with Prius tyres which were put there for a specific reason. It also comes with STIFFER dampers and springs in the rear to make it oversteer. If that is perfect balance in your eyes then you are nothing but an elitist fool. Go join a BMW forum or something. This is a toyota/subaru with suspension set ups taken from other models. the car is a low budget sports car that is supposed to be fun. Stop hyping it up to be some ultra-refined super car. It is not.

And for the record, drifters dont stretch tyres because they cant afford wider rubber. They do it to reduce sidwewall flex so the oversteer is easier to generate and easier to control. Perhaps you should learn the facts before putting your tin-foil hat on next time.
