Well.... definitely found something not right.

The left hand intake valve does not seem to open/close while rolling the crankshaft over. About to do a quick leak down test to confirm it's not fully sealed but pretty clear that something isnt right.

The question is whether or not this is traceable back to bad recall springs or not.

A tweaked valve is almost always due to a weak or broken valve spring. Or it over revved hard and floated the valves, but you would probably have more than one. And knowing this is an issue, an issue you have a pending recall for, I would go that way.

Often nothing else is damaged. Replace the valve and move on. Should be covered under the recall. It will be more work, the head will have to be removed.
