Seibon Dry Carbon Parts

Disclaimer : Doing this for weight loss, not looks! In the future may get painted body color

Huge Preview of some awesome lightweight parts will be installing soon

just got in some DRY Carbon parts from Seibon. I got the doors and trunk lid as they should give the most weight loss per $.

Weights did not disappoint

Doors 10.75lbs each
Trunk 7.5lbs with the center piece included

Doors

Looks like all the stock mounting points inside

10.75lbs !!!

Trunk - Was very happy it came with the center piece, It didn't show that in the pictures and I though I would have to use stock or buy separate

7.5lbs

well first Seibon has a sale on there website plus I had a code so got the doors and trunk for ~$3000 shipped. Plus I didn't see doors on MPH site. I may go with MPH roof if I decide to go through the trouble since his is lighter

I should have said Had. I just checked Seibon website and they don't have the dry doors and trunk on there. They may have been selling off old stock or discontinuing

Pre preg carbon should be lighter/stronger than resin infused parts. Curious to see what the stock weights are, especially for the trunk.

Isn't it not safe to run CF doors without side impact bars?

I did some research but will have weights once I take everything off. I hear the doors are ~50lbs without glass I hope that will be a big loss.

Trunk I hear is anywhere from 10-15lbs, I will be losing the stock wing plus I wont be installing the stock trunk air lifts.

Im hoping to lose ~80lbs from both doors and ~10 from trunk

Are motorcycles surrounded with crash beams and airbags?

Obviously there is risk.

Don't want to turn this into a safety debate. For my build would pointless at this time to take out 100lbs only to add in a 100lb cage

Motorcycles don't have seat belts either. Might as well get rid of those.

I'm just kidding.

Sweet pick up on the doors.

Got the trunk installed today. Hardest part was getting the clips out for the licence plate seriously shit took a half hour for 2 clips. Everything fit great had to cut hole for backup camera though carefully with a Dremel.

Made a little template for the camera cut

Didn't take pictures during the install it was starting to rain but I persevered and got it done

Driver side had slightly more gap than passenger but both were close

And of course the weights now Stock trunk, wing and shocks were 18.5lbs

11lbs weight loss, Vehicle new weight 2439.75 LBS

It looks great Tom!

Would you mind weighing and posting separate weights for the trunk struts and wing?

Looking forward to the doors.

Well the stock wing is connected to the trunk not going to strip that off. The struts were like a 1lb

I think the most difficult part to installing the doors will be getting the glass aligned but I plan to give each door there own day to get perfect
