Relative to SSC in Solo, has the following already been established?
  1. SSC is currently and only planned to be SSC, not "SSC1" or "SSC2", as this link leads me to believe: https://www.scca.com/pages/solo-spec-class
  2. All OEM parts must be replaced with the Stage 1 parts and Stage 2 upgrades, as listed above, and I believe clarified in the following, which no longer has 'stage' written anywhere and changed to "Mandatory Parts". It ALL has to be done and you HAVE TO be on the spec tire, or you are illegal for SSC, right? Meaning, a stock car without the modifications could not run in SSC nor a partially upgraded car, correct? https://www.scca.com/downloads/39685...01-08/download
  3. It is expected that wheel rim Mfg is to be free? Meaning, there is not expectation for a Spec Wheel rim to be announced (so I can go buy)?
  4. The Falken Azenis RT-615K+ 225/45/17 is now the spec tire, correct?
  5. Bodywork : Does this mean velox or underbody panels are excluded? I would assume so. Does this mean the 13-16 Limited Blue.Series that has STi body cladding and front lips are excluded or included? "Accessories, gauges, indicators, lights and other appearance, comfort and convenience modifications which have no effect on performance and/ or handling and do not materially reduce the weight of the car are permitted."
  6. What is the weight of the mid-pipe alone? "Weight – minimum, both muffler and midpipe (lbs.): 18"
  7. Whoever added this, you are amazing: "An oil cooler is allowed provided no unauthorized modifications are made to perform the installation"

I believe the rules are pretty clear on this. I am just playing catch-up, and I apologize for this. Just want to ensure my understanding is accurate.
midpipe is about 12.5 lbs

Did anyone install an oil cooler? Oil coolers were omitted on the most recent 2018-01-26 spec sheet.

To a point, it *should* (May have to wait for the town hall in a couple weeks to get a permanent answer on this... I remember reading that if it wasn't in the rules, it defaulted back to stock, but that's not in this, nor the only other copy I had from early Jan).

To do so, you have to replace everything else that comes with the release series or blue and do a full conversion, and both cars have to be same model year.

FYI, I knew the cars were going to be updated shortly in the rules, which is why I couldn't say anything until published, which was today.

https://www.scca.com/downloads/40076...coupe/download

Yes, it's missing the oil cooler allowance that was previously on the rules, and should be added once they get back in when they can.

I'm trying to get them to update the rules with a line that either

"For components not specifically listed in the Stage 1 or Stage 2 Packages, the Solo Street Category allowances will apply."

or

"For components not specifically listed in the Stage 1 or Stage 2 Packages, the Solo Street Category allowances will not apply."

Because I found the part I remembered reading where it said all
street allowances would apply.... https://www.scca.com/articles/200782...class-unveiled

Per my earlier question about "all or nothing", the original wording did state:

Quote:
For components not specifically listed in the Stage 1 or Stage 2 Packages, the Solo Street Category allowances will apply. Vehicles will be allowed to compete “under prepared” without all permitted modifications being installed. Where applicable, Solo Spec Coupe cars can also compete in the STX class.
Which I am assuming is super-ceded by the current "Mandatory Parts" section (and different that original stated intent).

Still, Solo Street Category allowances allowed me to choose 5k Motons, right?

The oil cooler is back! Yes!

After discussing this elsewhere, the rules, of course, are the rules. Until they get updated either saying yes we fall back to street or not, it's better to assume that for the time being, the class does NOT revert back to Street rules for anything not covered.

Everything needed is on the SSC handout, anything not there would be not legal. Meaning you can't do same year package conversions.

Spec rules updated again, and word has it, they are done with it unless it's something really important.... just this:

Quote:
The muffler and midpipe (as shown in the following figure) may be substituted provided the system exits the car in one or both original locations.
Quote:
o Weight – minimum, both muffler and midpipe (lbs.): 18

Am I missing something? I don't see how the updated wording exclude the single tip nameless muffler

It's still a muffler and it makes the weight.

You can still run the nameless, it still meets weight, like right at the minimum, right?

Or, you can sell it, put in the $30 bent pipes that meet weight, and still be pretty well off.

It seems like making weight requires something other than a straight pipe (like a muffler). -Unless the straight pipe is some sort of industrial plumbing equipment.

I think they are trying to allow as much lattitude as possible while still discouraging expensive systems made from leightweight unobtanium.
