Okay

I'm probably a few years younger than you, but as a kid I had to ride my bicycle to the library every time I wanted to look something up. So I know what it was like before cellphones with Google translate on them.
I also remember those tiny, rather useless dictionaries.

I just figured if you were settled in enough to bake cakes, you'd invest in a decent Englisch-Deutsch Wörterbuch.

Anyway, unshaven armpits are still quite common in Europe; and personally I don't see what all the fuzz is about.

I was going to remind humfrz that you're Norwegian but am glad I held off.

I agree with you. This North American (Western?) obsession with body hair is ridiculous. I genuinely feel bad for what women put themselves through.

I just find it barbaric but we all give in to the norms. I shave some of my face but boy, I really enjoyed letting it grow out over the holidays.

Well, ya, I reckon I do have a few years on you ......

Well, as a kid, at least you DID have a library to ride your bike to ....I had to wait till the library came to town ......

In Germany, we did most of our shopping at the post Commissary or PX ...... I just forgot the baking soda .......

Yep, the big book of English-German words would have been nice ....... but, we couldn't afford one of those on $216 per month pay.

Yep, the hairy armpits and hairy legs on women was quite common ...... but to me, at least, there was just something weird about looking a hairy legs wearing nylons ......

Like, I never got used to warm soda or warm beer either.

Whatever happened to those doom and gloom threads on the possibility of the next gen twin I should post this on there (spoiler alert: our car future is bleak).
