^What he said. No real performance benefit in autox, but it'll be a very nice allowance for those people who do track day stuff as well. Very happy to hear they came to their senses on that one.

Sure, no performance benefit but will still be seen as a need in the class regardless how you look at it.

SCCA has never in the past done any rules like this to help cater cars to the track or wherever...I think it sets a bad precedence if you ask me

If it adds weight and offers no performance benefit for AX I don't see how it becomes considered a need in the class. It is not on my shopping list.

I think banning reliability modifications that give no competitive advantage was the original bad precedent and I hope they fix this for all classes eventually.

Since SEB is being nice, hopefully they will add MTEC shifter springs to the spec list (dreaming).

This isn’t a reliability modification.

Look up the new wording on SP modifications for reliability and we can revisit this.

I hope they allow Miatas because those are super fun and reliable.

I don't know. You can already get -3 degrees of front camber in an ES Miata. Just ask your favorite person from Vegas.

"New wording"?

This seems like you're trying to lure me into a semantics rabbit hole, so I will save us both some time.

Unless someone can make the case that oil coolers are inherently unsafe or create a competitive advantage and by extension, added expense, I probably won't find a legalistic-wording angle persuasive.

I understand the need for the strict "if the rules don't say you can, you can't" philosophy, but I like a rule that says "you can" have an engine oil cooler. (i would like the rules to say that all classes "can".) -Same goes for finned diff covers. (& diff coolers)

I was thinking window tint or stain-resistant carpet treatments might cause the next controversy.

Ugh!
People who drove the Nexens at Nats hated them. I would rather take either of the above mentioned tires before the Nexens. Preference going to the RE71s which suit my driving style better.

I would be fine with Nexens... as long as everyone is on the same tire, it doesn't matter. They are a fun tire to drive on.

As I understand it, the SEB is reviewing tire manufacturer proposals. Proposals, I assume, would include things like pricing, availability, contingency, umbrella girls, etc etc. Whatever tire we end up getting, will the best deal for all of us.
