I have an automatic and I am not very light footed and I am averaging 8.1 L/100 km so somewhere around 29 mpg which I am happy with my NA Impreza 2.5I was pretty much 26 mpg same route to work which is 70% highway and 30% city

That's mostly highway driving but pretty aggressively.

On a high side I get about 30 mpg and the low side about 28, I drive about 85% highway. During the winter it will drop to 26/27 ish mpg because the winter tires. Most of the time I drive sensibly but Ill punch it if I have to. Might stray into Mexico once in a while you know... Ohh, and I have a manual.

My last road trip was Kansas City to Colorado Springs and I got about 35 mpg, not to bad.

So how much does altitude have to do with mpg, because I have a hard time understanding how people are getting close to 40 mpg in this car. I drive mostly highway miles and I'm only getting 27.7 mpg. Even installed a TRD filter and still can't crack 30 mpg.

I have been averaging 19 mpg in my everyday driving. I romp on it often and when I am the rpms don't go below 3.5-4k... But I did take a long highway drive last weekend where I averaged 30 mpg...

If you want to see near 40 go on a highway, put the cruise on at about 50 mph or less, and just let it go. Oh, shift af 1500 rpm, use the gas pedal like it has a nuke you might set off if you press it too hard, and never use the brakes, coast to a stop every time.

I hit 39 once doing that. I can get 32 if I want easy, but the second I shift at 3k rpms my mileage drops to 29.

With my manual FRS I am up to 27.8 after swapping to UEL Headers..I haven't gotten tuned yet though

My Saabaru (Same as 2.5L N/A impreza) gets closer to 25 MPG but I do more city driving with that car still probably cheaper to run because it takes regular gas and I don't beat on it as much now that i have a toy car

I average 30 mpg with mostly highway miles. I think the lowest I've seen is 27.
