I just got asked if I was actually going to do anything to my car for Summer Kickoff. But I also get yelled at for spending too much. Im walking a fine line lol.

Woke up to 4 or 5 purple bird shits on the car

Scrambled to wipe them off gently with some water before they could do damage. Looks fine now though.

^this. Pro tip: don't just spray and wipe/scrub off. Allow it to soak-in and "rehydrate" and it will wipe off much easier.

Today I filled up with only about a third of a tank remaining for the first time. Got just under 8 gallons at 3.19/9 for about $25.42 total.

Is that a decent deal for the bay area? 91 octane, of course.

Price varies depending on brand and location but it's been ~$2.80-3.20/gal lately. Been on the higher end at the last few places I've seen.

Get some micro fiber towels from Costco and pick up a bottle of Meguiar's Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere. Cleans up bird crap much better and easier. Spray on, wait 10 seconds, gently wipe.

Has anyone ever financed parts? I keep seeing on Ft86speedfactory that they have an option for monthly payment plans.

It's not something I'm interested in doing, myself. But I was curious if other people take advantage of that. I can see some benefit. I mean, I'm still about 2 months away from making my first meaningful parts purchase (wheels/tires). So I can definitely see how it would be attractive.

My wife and I give ourselves $250/mo of pocket money that we use on whatever we want and it doesn't come out of any other part of our budget. But when I'm wanting to get an OFT, Header-back exhaust, wheels/tires, short-throw shifter + springs, weighted shifter, etc., it can feel like I'm going to need extra patience for this to finally come together.

If anyone does do the financing of parts, what are the pros/cons you've noticed?

From what I've seen most sellers for our car parts have Affirm for the option of financing parts. I haven't used it myself but from looking at their website it seems like high interest 3, 6, or 12 month loans. I wouldn't bother with it to be honest. Just save your money and be patient. The car is fantastic stock. If you really must you can find good deals by buying used parts.

I use Paypal credit from time to time. 6 months no interest for many purchases so as long as you pay it off in that frame no harm no foul. It doesnt even appear on your credit report which could be good or bad depending on how you use it lol
