Carbotech AX-6 at the moment, and Motul RBF600. Rear rotors are OEM, front are the default j-hooks with the AP Sprint kit. No, the BBK isn't making me usefully faster, but the price was good and the brake feel is excellent.

So the AP Sprint is STX legal? I've been eyeing it as something to get down the line, but the pictures make the individual rotor plates look thinner than OEM. Has anyone measured? I haven't been able to find specs.

Thanks for that. Here's the relevant rule with the part I'm interested bolded:

Non-standard brake rotors may be used provided they are of equal or
larger dimensions (diameter and thickness) and made of ferrous material
(e.g., iron). Thickness includes the individual plates of a vented rotor,
as well as the overall dimension.

Overall the whole rotor might be thicker, but the thickness of the individual rotor plates (i.e. without the cooling vanes) also matters. Looking at the picture, the plates themselves are both ~15 pixels. So it's probably fine, assuming that you can claim the minimum rotor width in the FSM as your starting point.

You're looking into it too much. It's saying that thickness includes the plates + the vanes. Basically giving you a basis on what is defined as overall dimension.

If this wasn't the case paper would have been thrown already. Marcus in 2015 won STX with an AP Kit.

Well then this is the 3rd case of shitty English I've come across in the rulebook in the last month. Sometimes I wonder if it might not be better to burn it all and start over. "As well as" implies a separate measurement to me, not a combination.

How do you like the W3's? Looking into upgrading pads to handle DD duty as well as autox, probably going to do AX6's later this year but I'd like to try a Winmax product given the good reviews they've been getting, would have picked them up instead of the last pads I got but couldn't figure out what level would be appropriate.

$5k, $8, $10k, $20... Whatever it is that's more than I want to put towards my FR-S to jump classes. I'd rather move to DS where I already have everything for the car and just need to switch to a non-RS version.

Yeah, if you don't want to put $5k into it then it's not the class for you.

I bet if you picked up stock springs and a sway nobody would bat an eye at your car running DS.

I really like them. They get up to temp in the first few turns on the AX course. I've run a set for a full autocross season on A7s in SM and daily driven on them and they weren't done after a year's time (about 25K street miles). They do produce some dust, and they will occasionally make a very slight amount of noise if they are bedded in properly.

I've used the W3 and W2 for less than 2 seasons. They were an improvement over the stock pads with regards to threshold braking, but found they were a bit harsh when trying to modulate for something like a "very light brake" or a brake tap. The bite was a bit harsh and resulted in too much of a loss of mph and momentum, IMO. So far I think the Carbotech AX6 are much better for autocross, especially more so if you left foot brake a lot. Right now I am testing the GLOC versions of the same or similar compound. Only one event so far but really good modulation....Very impressed so far.
