With regards to e85 or HBP, seems as though I will definitely need to upgrade the injectors and fuel pump. This answers #2 and #3 above. My biggest hesitation is deciding between c30 and c38... The biggest reason I am leaning towards the c38 is to leave the door open for big power down the road. But, if I only ever run the CARB tube or a flex fuel and/or HBP setup, would I ever regret the c38? In other words, when does going for the c38 pay off? |

Thanks. I saw a dyno somewhere of a c30 vs c38 and they were close. But I think the c38 made a tad bit less power down low and more up top.
Edit: I think I was remembering the first dyno here. Not sure if it's the CARB tune or not, but it seems the c38 suffers on the low end but does better at high RPM. It seems it is superior to the C30 once the HBP and flex fuel are added to the mix. http://blog.vittuned.com/jackson-rac...ft-86-fr-sbrz/ Let's say I don't do the HBP though... Would the c38 still outshine the c30? Would I need to upgrade the internals and clutch if I ran 1. C38 + flex fuel + injectors + fuel pump 2. C38 + flex fuel + injectors + fuel pump + HBP Last edited by BR-ZED; 12-28-2016 at 08:03 PM. |

I was running flex fuel with a c30, and I snapped a rod. Catastrophic.Engine.Destruction. I will now have to have an engine built, as I was on the ragged edge of what was safe for this engine with stock internals. Keep this in mind when making your decisions. A c38 will provide head room, but to what end? As it turns out, I will be upgrading to a c38 so I can run high rpm. Thought my experience might be useful to you. Good luck!

Oil cooler vs. Radiator with cooler
I'm sure it's been asked and answered, but... which is the best route to go, JR Radiator with oil cooler, or just the oil cooler alone? Not concerned with the extra $$, just want the best option. Running the JRSC C-30, flex fuel kit, Ace 350 Header and full exhaust.
Thanks!! |
