2017 BRZ delivery in Jan?

I understand that that contradicts what @Tcoat has stated with regards to minimum times between VIN creation and delivery, but if the aforementioned assumptions are correct, that's how the math works out.


It is also possible that it could be a shorter window than 20 days, but that seems like a stretch. All I know is what I have stated above. Take it for what you will.

Finally somebody has a VIN!!!!! That is really the key to the whole process. It is a minimum 20 days to get it here so that means your car must already have been built and in the shipping pipeline when the VIN was assigned to you. There is no miracle shipping methods to get it here faster. Maybe you will be the first. It is a bit odd that yours is on the way and practically everybody else has been told theirs is pushed out.

He did say that it was a non-PP car so that may be why his is coming earlier and has a VIN assigned.

GODAMNIT! I missed that part. A non PP is just assigning a VIN to a normal production car that happens to be on the way to a certain region anyway. It could have been built weeks ago and be anyplace in the shipping pipeline. You can walk into many dealers and drive away in a 17 right now.
So we are back to no VIN for a PP.

Four dealers on Long Island noted that the BRZ with performance package has no date and will not have a date for months. Not to even speak about a date to deliver, or time frame, but basically it is not a car to order.

Being that no one has gotten one even though they ordered them in September, and have no VIN or date, this might be the case. Sadness. I want to buy one, but can't buy something that does not exist.

These things must be selling like mad or they are just bringing over a handful at a time. Auto Trader shows only 3 in LA (no WRB of course) and a grand total of 10 (7 of them blue) for ALL of Canada. Now of course not all dealers put them in Auto Trader but it is a good indication of how few are out there.
