Maybe that's more for what they get at sale than cost but it seems how it is.

It's probably like military stuff where it costs 4 times what it would for any non military application and then the price for up sizing is just abused even more. Somehow I doubt the screen on the GPS in a Humvee is much different from one for a semi truck but I'll bet it costs many times more. I worked at a place that had a contract for a single item for the army and we overcharged several times what it would be for anyone else

Oh everything in aviation is 10x as expensive if it's certified. Experimental (home built) aircraft you can put in whatever you want.

Yea but I would imagine the quality of the electronics and construction being much higher end than your typical consumer products once you open the instruments up.

Like old Japanese audio gear, the front panel might look stupidly similar between the cheap model and the flagship, but inside is a totally different story.

I was pondering, as I do..

That we are all here on this forum for our mutual love of one thing..

The love of the 86/BRZ/FT86

Maybe we can agree on one thing, we all love it...

Nope won't even get consensus on that. Many guys here seem to hate it (yet they keep coming back).
