Adding AWD without adding weight is physically impossible. More parts = more weight. Not to mention the increase in price from making it AWD.

MSRP for a GT350R is 62k. Add AWD and a bunch of lightweight materials to get the weight to stay the same, and we're looking at an MSRP of over 70k easily; probably closer to 80k. No thanks.
Kind of contradicting yourself. AWD is definitely possible, but you might be right that it might be better for this platform.

And forgive me if I'm assuming too much, but you make it sound like you can afford the $62k but not $70K~$80K?

anyway,at a higher price, the car still might be worth it.

Explain where I'm contradicting myself. I said the FR layout is an appropriate layout for the car. Then I mention that adding AWD adds complexity, cost, and weight in response to the comment prior about adding AWD but not adding weight.

You are assuming too much. The point is that at 62k, the GT350R is still competitively priced against Chevy, BMW, etc.

When you start increasing the price by 10-15k, it starts entering new territory in terms of competitor vehicles. I think most Mustang fans would prefer to keep the RWD layout and not pay $80,000 for a Mustang.

The way this statement reads is that it's impossible, but yeah, they can do it.Impossible,by definition means that there is no possible way for it to be accomplished. That's why I said that your statement was kind of contradictory.

That's totally fair and I do agree for the most part, but damn would it be nice to see what an AWD model could do.Think of the Ken Block's '65 AWD Mustang.Of course that thing is heavily modded and meant for drifting, but it's still an AWD Mustang. I would just like to see what a production level AWD Shelby Cobra would offer to the world.Price be damned.

PS
Sorry if I came off sounding like I'm trying to start some internet war.Wasn't my intention.

I've driven a GT350R on track. It is surprisingly balanced but you can feel its weight.

Can I have that engine in my BRZ?

Probably because nobody can actually buy one, even if you have the $185,000 MSRP.

It just seems like the perfect balance of everything I love about cars. Great handling,a true manual gearbox, and enough power to keep up with anything on the road. and it looks mean as fuck!

The only way they could possibly make it better is if it were AWD without adding much,if any weight. If that were ever to happen,it might be as close to perfection that any car has ever been.
Really, the only way they could possibly make a 3800 lb sports car better would be adding AWD? Seriously? How about removing 300+ lb of weight? Current Mustang is an overweight pig. Yeah she can dance but the cost of consumables at the track will be sky high.
