Any reason why other than personall preference? I'm not looking for NAV or any of that kind of stuff, my phone has more up to date maps and I'm not a fan of having a NAV screen if i'll never use it. Is there any other perks? I'll be using it mostly for summer fun/autox

Here is what I used to make my purchasing decision:

-If you are looking for a nice daily driver, one with auto HVAC, heated seats, nav, get the BRZ.

-If you just want a car and not a whole lot more, get the FR-S.

I got the FR-S. It's technically not the daily driver, yet I haven't touched my actual daily driver since the end of May.

I felt that the majority of extras that the BRZ has over the FR-S I'd end up replacing anyway, so I'd rather start with a clean slate and mod from there.

Having owned the same car with and without factory HIDs (both an Evo IX and an Evo IX SE), I am inclined to go with HIDs every time if it's available. I know that you can buy HID kits on eBay, but I'd rather not have to deal with all of that.

Also, I used to prefer the FR-S's more aggressive front end, but the BRZ's front end has really grown on me over the past several weeks.

The navigation isn't a big deal to me, but it sure looks better than the Scion's standard head unit. I have an iPhone as well, but certain states (mine included) have laws against using your cell phone, so an in-dash navigation system has its uses. Additionally, while there are new maps every year, it's not as if it will grow miserably outdated after a few years.

All of that stuff combined makes it worth it to me, plus the BRZs will be a bit rarer in comparison, and I'm thinking that in the end, the BRZ's insurance rates will be lower once the smoke clears. (I work in insurance, and I look at a lot of things with that in mind.)

Auto HVAC, heated seats and nav arent really what i was looking for, so it sounds like i'm going to be sticking with my initial choice of the FR-S. Thanks for the info!

FYI, the auto HVAC and heated seats are not on the BRZ Premium (the standard model), they are only on the BRZ Limited.

Be sure to bookmark the homepage blog. I've been a blogger for years so will be updating the blog with any new FT86 developments, info, and news.

Again, welcome and looking forward to chatting with you all.

Hey all.
I'm Neal. In the Navy and currently at training/school in CT. I have a 6MT Whiteout or Asphalt (whichever comes in first, haha) on order. Still wrestling with whether or not I want to drop the coin or not, But I'm pretty sure I'm lying to myself about that. Well see once I get a test drive.

Hey Everyone,

I dropped a deposit on a HOT LAVA AT last week and she should be here any minute. I can't wait.

I feel like I'm cheating on my Trusty 2008 xB. Don't get me wrong; she's practical and everything, but just so......boring. -______-

Anyways. I can't wait to finally test drive my FR-S when she arrives! This is gonna be the best impulse buy ever.

Hi everyone, Xavier here...

I got the VIN for a Firestorm MT which should sit in my parkway before the end of next week. I still have to make the final arrangements for the pre-sale preparation and hopefully will not have to count too many days before getting the FR-S.

I will be leaving behind me a great MX-5 NC which brought me a lot of joy on the road. It is a bit sad but the test drive with the FR-S proved to me that I will be in familiar territory for now on. I will try to post a comparison between the cars after I get acquainted with my new mount...

I have been lurking on this board since a month, and it was a determining factor in my signing up for a FR-S. Frankly, I did not think much of this car before late-May but got hooked by the enthusiasm of the people over here, then it was about a test drive on launch week and papers were signed on the same night. I was lucky enough to make this test without the salesman, so my girlfriend could join the ride. Since she felt way more comfortable in the seat of the FR-S, there was no more doubt that it would be my next car. Nice to be soon part of the family!

Hi all. Just wanted to join your community as I am a car guy and enthusiast of all cars in general. I am a current owner of a 2008 Eclipse GT Special Edition which is a blast to drive. 260Hp 260Tq is amazing! Fastest car i've owned. I love coupes, as I have owned a 99 mercury cougar, 05 ford focus hatch coupe, and still have a 90 honda CRX SI that i've owned for 5 years as my DD.

I have owned the eclipse for 2 years, but might be looking in to an FR-S in the next few years after it is paid off and hopefully by then it will have a more improved HP/TQ

Thanks for the welcomes!

I was wondering...
Do the FR-Ss headed for Hawaii go to Portland or Long Beach and then get shipped to Hawaii, or do they drop them off on the way?
