You have over a minute of continuous boost which is alot unless your on a race track. Charges at 8:1 rate. AutoX and drag racing no issues at all. But you can't buy it so irrelevant really. My tuner tells me the way to go is Edelbrock or Harrop these days if you must have a SC over turbo.

Stevo's calcs are correct. My Phantom ESC dyno's 223/207 on a hot/humid day last year. It's been great for me and I'll give just about anyone in So Cal a demo ride if you're willing to come to O.C. It doesn't fit everyone's use case, but probably fits more than some think. Also, the install is clean and uncluttered, the engine bay looks nearly stock except for the snail. Easily the fewest parts of any F.I. Kit.

All the big name SCs are great and will give you what you want(unless you want a blowoff valve as screw types lie edelbrock don't have) so pick whichever is cheapest/looks best/whatever. My tuner prefers the edelbrock but power wise they are all about the same. Edelbrock may be a little simpler install as there are fewer pieces

If you're able to, see if there's any Facebook groups for the 86 around your area...join the group then see what people are running....ask about ride alongs
I'm sure people will be accommodating.I have them Jackson kit on my car. No complaints. Highway fuel efficiency is at 32+mpg when doing around 70-75mph. I considered Edelbrock in the past but went with Jackson as it had already passed Carb...read through the forums and it's generally a problem free system. Cost was also cheaper. The noise the system makes is pretty cool too. I have heard the innovate/sprintex whine....it was cool but wasn't for me. The Jackson makes all sorts of cool noises (jet engine/turbine noises, whooshing, and that pssshhh sounds)..when you get on it....it's quiet when you're not romping on the throttle....the car sounds different than stock. Best thing to do is to see if you can get a ride along/test drive if possible. Then you can find out which system you prefer based on it. |

Thanks to everybody. I can't give thanks out since I just made my account (at least I think that's why) but from what I'm getting from everybody, and since it actually is CARB legal, it looks like I'll be getting an Edelbrock SC sometime in the future.

When you're ready, let us know. We include a free D-box (smooths out the power delivery and gives you a bit more power; plug and play) with every Edelbrock order.

Well that's just inaccurate. The Innovate and Cosworth kits both replace the intake manifold

He's got you there. I've never installed a SC(or owned one) but the screw types seemed much easier to install since they don't have the intercooler piping to route. Not that it would be difficult to run pipes but removing the intake manifold seems like it would be pretty simple
