I'm in Michigan, so we get just "a little bit of snow". I drove mine on Blizzaks all last winter, worked like a charm. Traction is there if you want/need it, just don't floor the throttle and smooth steering inputs. You can also have some fun sliding around when needed! (highly recommended)

drove mine here in missouri last winter on the stock tires. we only had 1 or 2 snows and they weren't that bad.

I'll be getting winter tires this year.

Being from Minnesota i highly recommend getting a set of Winter Tires, they are great. I don't winter my car because i can't expose it to the salt corrosion.

When my car was stock i drove it a little in the early spring in the snow on stock tires, it's fun to go spin around in a open lot, but terrifying on the road.

A friend of mine drives his lowered FR-s on stock tires in the winter. He has ended in a ditch twice. He's finally decided to get a SUV.

I honestly enjoyed driving this car in the winter with winter tires more than I enjoy summer driving on the stock tires

Having spent an entire childhood raised in Alaska. After driving RDW, FWD, 4X4, AWD ... my preference was always a 4X4.

If your winters are mild .... the FRS with snow tires is fine.

If your in an area with serious snow and ice. Get a 4X4 or AWD beater if you can afford it. Use the FRS as it was designed in dry conditions and the beater for the snow and ice.

Warning: Per the owner's manual, do not install chains or cables!

There's not enough room in there and they will rip shit to shreds.

There are a few people that live in Canada and drive their cars year round. You just need some dedicated winter tires, and you need to stay within the limits of those tires.

Then you're good to go. Get some good winter tires and you're set.
Stop waiting and buy the car.

Buy the Blizzacks and you will be fine. Leave the traction Nanny on unless you are Hooning around.

3 winters in on mine and no real issues with drive-ability in slippery conditions. Biggest winter issue is that the auto up-down window dance that happens when you open the door does not like frozen water. The glass will end up in the down position and you will get snow or rain in the car.

Good news is that I see where you currently live on "Earth"; word on the street is that Earth is getting warmer and soon the entire planet will be able to revert to real-wheel-drive vehicles.
