I never understood this. Maybe some of the parents on this thread can shine some light on this.

How are you gonna buy your 18 year old kid a 30,000$ car? And have them call it "inexpensive" ? That hurts me.

People who have money to blow...

If my kid (if I ever have one) wants a car, I'll buy them a relatively cheap one. But, they are on their own with regards to insurance, upkeep, gas, etc.

Now if they cry about wanting a "cooler" car, they are going to have to work for it. I did for mine, they are going to have to do the same. Not spoiling my kid, and hopefully my future spouse doesn't do the same -_-

Damn, late to the party. Thanks for filling in for me.

The most important first step is admitting ignorance. College was extremely humbling for me. When I started applying my vibrations analysis curriculum to real-world suspension design I realized there is a very small circle of people who can truly say they know what they're doing. I stand just outside that circle.
