Anyone have experience with buddyclub d1 / racing spec coils?
I have a local that I can get a good deal on these installed so I'm wondering if anyone has had bad / good experience on these?

What are you doing with them?
With HPDE, AutoX, or some serious speed in mind not the best solution. Driving around town, some weekend cruising, "spirited driving" and you want something lower and stiffer, you'll probably be happy. |

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59596 That along with a couple autocross resources tipped me in the direction I want to go, the tl;dr is that suspension in the sub $1k range you will likely be better off with Koni Yellow's and springs (maybe Bilstein B6/8 if you have a preference) and in the $1k-$2k range you are making sacrifices for what you want, most of the options are covered in that thread. Many will stoutly insist that adjustments in that price range are almost meaningless, get quality non-adjustibles instead, many will talk about how they love adjusting the dampers on the fly between track and street and balance changes that have gotten them what they wanted. At the end of the day it's what makes you satisfied that matters. But ultimately, for an 86, the stock springs and dampers are quite capable and alignment is much more valuable if you're starting from bone stock: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...4&postcount=23 Remember to consider what you want to do in autocross, even certain camber bolts will take you out of a competitive class based on the rules and force you to spend thousands more to be competitive in a higher class. |
