I watched about three hours of the "Stop a Douchebag" movement on youtube last night. Something about watching that kind of justice porn just feels so damn good.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, there's an activist group in Russia that patrols sidewalks asking cars that drive on them in an attempt to cut traffic to back up to where they entered. If the driver refuses they get a sticker on their windshield that is a nightmare to remove. They've become pretty well known and just about everyone loves them, motorists, pedestrians, and police officers alike. Most drivers apologize for risking peoples' safety and back up, but every once in a while a true douchebag emerges and that's when things get interesting.

Well, after 3 years of being a "neighborhood exclusive" someone else in my subdivision has purchased a 2015 Firestorm FR-S (has a factory spoiler). Several neighbors (and most of my family) have commented about waving at the person thinking it was me.

Maybe I should have gone Hot Lava after all!

I was OK with it right up to the point where they started vandalizing the cars (adding stickers, jumping up on the hoods most likely scratching the paint). At that point they became no better than the offenders they are looking to stop.

I'd say watch a couple more. Would I ever condone randomly vandalizing people's cars? Hell no! But if a drunk/high idiot is hard charging down a pedestrian sidewalk and would rather run people out of the way than back up, yea go for it.

IMO from what I've seen, they do their best to respect the people's vehicles, they won't jump on unless the operator tries to drive into them to get them out of the way, and they only stick the stickers on windshields where it won't cause damage to the paint.

Definitely a moral gray area, and feel free to fall on whichever side of the fence you want. I see it as the price of buffing your clear coat is pennies compared to the potential cost of human life.

I'm right there with you, definitely a gray area, and to protect life and limb I'm all good with it.

I do think they should be dressed as the Justice League or something though.
