Anyone know if it's possible to get different sizes when upgrading with the warranty discount? I know OP went to 245's, but what if I wanted anything bigger? Or 17 to 18? It's clearly not for the same wheels anymore though.

Hey everyone! So I just placed my order for PSS with the Michelin warranty. Went to Sears and they gave me back 51% from each primacy tire($240/per) but one of my tires was only 25% so I only got back $60 cause I believe it had some life until it hit the wear bars. All together I'm going to end up paying $280 with tax and mounting for MPSS 215/45/17 stock size!(:

Well for the wear indicator the guy had really bad handwiriting...what I used to check it the penny test(mines was showing Lincoln head on all 4) & also looked at the wear bars and we're all pretty much flush with tires

Driving on chipseal all the time, I end up warranting my tires often. Yes, you can do this with the original equipment tires. However, they really look for even wear, which just won't happen in most circumstances.

I case you did not know your stock Primacy HP tires have a 35,000 mile warranty form Michelin.
If you have worn your tires down to the wear bars before the 35,000 miles you can get new tires at a significant discount.

How this worked for me:
Tire sucked and were down to the bars by 11,000 miles.

Took car to sears automotive because they are authorized dealer for the frenchies (Michelin is a French company).Had sears automotive call in warranty of tires to Michelin at 1-866-866-6605.

Told them I would like to substitute PSS for Primacy HP Michelin was fine with this as PSS were less money.Michelin warrantied my tires and said I only had to pay 23% of a new set of PSS.

I asked Sears to order 245/40/17 PSS to go on the rims I just ordered they were on sale and I ended up paying about $230 including tax for a complete set of PSS.

I made sure all my tires were down to the wear bars before I went in and it took some time at Sears but I saved about $550.
Good luck all..
Reviving an old thread here. This is the wear bar on my stock tires (at 34k miles). Anyone think I can get away with getting new discounted tires? There's about 1mm until it hits the wear bar..

How do you prove to them that you've really only driven for X number of miles? For all they know, you could've driven the thing for 40k miles but just claim you've only done 15k...

They check odometer. If you replace they check mileage since replacement Michelin put on. I just blew a PSS after 400 miles. My fault. They checked on mileage and gave me discount on new one.

Does it matter how old the tires are? My car is over 2 years old but I only have 12k on my odometer
