Paints chip and door dings are things I cannot prevent. Yes, it's a $25k car and I drive it everyday. I keep it clean inside out and detail it at least once a year. What can I say, I take care of my stuff.

When I get a new car I try to keep it spotless but after the first dent all bets are off, the interior is a different story. I have a 4 year old and it takes him about 12 minutes to destroy anything and I take my dog with me a lot. Less than 1500 miles on the car and there's chocolate and rocks and sand all in the car seat area

So far my GT86 has accumulated.
* clear coat scratches up the top of the passenger side wing. * stone chip to primer on the bonnet * deep gouge on the driver side mirror(no idea how) * usually ends up covered in sand due to my neighbours little kid who has a sand pit on their balcony * the front bumper and driver side wing banged in by an old lady running a red (this was repaired of course!) * scratches on the driver door by my feet getting in and out. * scratch on the driver door inner panel * scratch on the central console (no idea how) It currently has grey gravel dust lines running out of the wheel arches in comical run lines backward down the body. Drive slowly through gravel puddles, then drive at 60mph home will do that. Oh and loads of bird dodo and sand on it. Needs a wash. 2 weeks ago it looked like this though:

I tried a shit load of things in my Lancer after the grandson left a box of crayons back there. Nothing worked and I was just spreading it around. Guy at work grabs a C02 extinguisher and says "watch this". He hit it with a couple of bursts and while it was still rock hard it just brushes it off. A few minutes with the C02 and a vacuum had it about 95% gone and the remainder was almost invisible. To get the rest out I understand that you can use an iron and paper but I never went that far since I really had to look to see it.

I see a competition in the works!
I just have to wave the wrong cloth 2 inches above mine to have swirl marks.

Its my daily..
I also bought my car with the intention of tracking it one way or the other, and generally that means shes gonna get a little beat up.. I wash her, I wax her, I paint correct her.. I fill in chips when they need to be filled in.. I do PDR when it can be done.. Perfect example is a cone I had in a drift at ~40MPH that put a dent in my rocker and in my door.. Will need to try and get it removed via PDR.. First real injust I got on the car.. I wasn't nearly as upset as I thought I would be because well, im not a ***** and the car was meant to be driven like a cheap whore you only have 30 minutes to get whatever you want in. |

I don't stress, you can't drive it without getting dings. Just not possible. I garage it in the winter because of the salt and elevated risk of crash. But I didn't buy a 20000$ statue... I bought a car/toy and it's gonna get played with

i LOVE keeping my car clean! i wash it every weekend i recently did my spring cleaning ![]() how can someone not enjoy a clean, well maintained car?? just look at the paint pop, only a single stage light polish, paint pops so much in the sun! its something i really enjoy doing, ill spend an entire saturday outside cleaning the car (mainly just in the summer months) ![]() that happened to me at the beginning of april with our Last Snow store, not even a week later it was repaired and fixed just the other day, i had some kid of pole get kicked up and caused some dents in the rear quarter and passenger side door, already when and got a quote to get it fixed, trying to go after the state to pay for the damage, we shall see |
