Somehow I feel less special seeing "limited" edition models every year...

Both Toyota and Subaru are always pretty tight lipped about rumors for the next model year cuz they don't want to affect the previous years sales (if they announce a new special edition too early, the 2015 base FRSs and RS 1.0s that are still sitting on the lots today may not sell for a long time).

However, in the past April - May, sometimes early June is the the main time for new car announcements. The FR-S RS 1.0 was announced mid April last year, BRZ series.blue was announced end of May I think.

If you don't see anything by June, there's probably no 2016 special edition.

Seems like it wouldn't make much sense for then to do another release series next year considering there are still a bunch of them unsold from the 2015 series.

I would absolutely agree with you if it was another car company but Scion's branding/track record is a bit odd. The tC had release series every single year from 2005 to 2012 and the FR-S replaced the tC as the Scion halo car in 2013. I figure that there's a good chance the every year, a special edition halo car would make sense for Scion - but really I have no evidence to back it up.. just my speculation.

Not to mention Subaru is also now coming out with lots of 'special editions'.. the WRX STI "Red Dragon", the yuzu yellow Crosstrek, and of course our own Series.Blues - just seems like the thing everybody is doing now.

But it's hard to say if it'll be a "Good" color. You can look at the past special colors they've used here:
http://www.scion.com/cars/release_series/
http://www.scion.com/cars/scion_series/

Personally, I've only liked less than half of the colors they've used in the past. And there's always the chance it'll be a Monogram or similar series (same color choices as stock).

Agree with you 100% with Scion making a lot of special RS models.

They only make one "TRD Release Series" so the FR-S RS 1.0 is this special edition.

I Bought the body from Tamiya and put it on a Tamiya TT02 I already had. The body alone is hard to find and I could only find the Toyota decals. The FR-S in the link is hard to find as a separate body. TT01 is an older chassis.

I drive it to work everyday, 50 miles there and 50 miles back! My coworker told me to carpool (he lives in my same block) and after a week I told him nah, I prefer to drive my RS everyday, and also be able to slide around corners without worrying about him fainting, haha
